What is Israel?
Some christians, especially the televangelist when they talk about Israel,they bring up a map and point out a country over there named Israel roughly the same place the Israel in the bible was.and therefore, that must be the Israel in the bible.they will apply everything the bible have said about Israel to that country and all the promises of Abraham and apply it to that country.so you end up with preachers who preach very loudly and very clearly through out satellite tv everywhere that no matter what,if you are a good Christian u must support that country over there called Israel regardless.

But as a person who studied the old testament, there is a problem with that. because even in the old testament,God did not defined Israel by it ethnic, boundaries or it's geographical boundaries.God always defined Israel as the people who follow him and made covenant with him.God is not about where you live or who your parents where.God is about are you in covenant with him?.because the covenant is what defined Israel not ethnicity or where they live.

that why u can be a true Israelite but leaves in Persia like Esther,u can be part of true Israel but not Jewish like kaleb.

With the intence brainwashing form the Christian preachers, you end up having good faithful christians subsribing to a circular democracy western government country which is what Israel is and applying biblical prophesy, writing and words applied to the faithful covenant of the Israel in the old testament to our todays circular Israel. u see that the results are very far away from anything you can find from the old testament and the new testament especially.

First of all, God is the one who makes Covenant with people/persons, not the other way around. Second, the entire Old Testament reveals that God's chose the people of Israel, descendants of Abraham AND Isaac AND Jacob as His Chosen people -- the 12 tribes of Israel to be specific. His chosen were israelites of the 12 tribes of Israel who literally had the blood of Israel coursing through their veins. Not just anyone with an idea and a hope of some kind made the cut. That much is made clear in the Old Testament.

As for the land, I was equally important to the identity given to the people by God by way of the Covenant. They were uprooted from their father, Abraham's land, by God and asked to move to another land which He would give to them. Yes, Esther was an israelite even in captivity and Caleb an israelite even before he entered the promised land, but that land was part of the agreement that was made them by the God of Israel who made them israelites.

Second, the same way you choose to see America as an evil country and the same way you choose to view the Zionists are an evil regime is the same way they, the Christians can and choose to call these people God's chosen people.
