Two supposed lovers, identified as Imaobong Sampson, and Beltus Ebong have been apprehended after staging their own kidnap.

TopNaija gathered that the two love birds were arrested by the Akwa Ibom State Police Command in the wee hours of Wednesday, March 20, 2024.

According to the statement released by Odiko Macedon, the State's Police PRO, the duo were captured in Mbierebe Obio Village after they demanded a ransom from their family to be "released."

According to Odiko Macedon, after the kidnap case was reported, members of the command’s Anti-abduction Squad tracked the suspects to their hideout.

He had gathered that the ghost abductors were demanding a sum of N4 million from the Imaobong's family for their release.

“As a result, operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Squad of the command embarked on an intense and intelligence-driven investigation to track down the perpetrators and rescue the victim.

“The said purported victim, one Imaobong Sampson ‘M’, and her boyfriend, Beltus Ebong ‘M’, were arrested in their hideout at Mbierebe Obio Village, Ibesikpo Asutan L.G.A,” he stated.
