It is indeed shameful that Nigerian newspapers lack the integrity to report objectively by calling blood tasty gunmen in the north bandits instead of terrorists…. This singular act in the choice of words used by Nigerian news media is clearly a calculated attempt to whitewash the terrible situation and insecurity going on especially in the northern part of the country. It is indeed a betrayal to the victims of terrorism and a verdict that corruption has eaten deep into Nigerian journalism. The obvious lie on the pages of newspapers calling the notorious gun men bandits each time they strike and the deceit will only encourage the terrorist sponsors to continue. Many journalists have become complacent and indirectly terrorist enablers….

The mayhem unleashed by terrorists all over the country in the last 2 weeks, the aftermath and deaths is alarming…. It is glaring that these attacks are political…. Calling them bandits is a disservice, a lie and a betrayal to the nation….. Nigerians deserve the truth….

Well, I don't know about you, but for me, bandits, terrorists and kidnappers are all the same.

A bandit does not become less evil simply because we don't call them terrorists. They are still the same kind of evil.

And I don't see the media whitewashing anything. If anything, they report all atrocities by bandits and if anything, they expose how weak the government is in dealing with them.
