QUICKPEN DEBORAH EBIMOBO-ERE shines again at the NATIONAL FRIENDS OF CHESS March 27th 2024. Blitz Session.

DEBBYQUICK (the wonder girl) just arrived back in Nigeria after having a very successful outing at the African Individual Chess Championship (AICC) 2024, Accra, Ghana, where her unusual strength and capability was strongly felt when she put an end to the winning streak of the South Africa’s WIM Jesse February Nikki.
It was in round 7 that Jesse met her fate, when she was paired against the wonder girl Deborah Quickpen. Quickpen dominated the game right from the beginning and eventually won.
She also had a draw in her game with the Egyptian WGM Shahenda Wafa.

DEBORAH QUICKPEN FINISHED 3RD @ NATIONAL FRIENDS OF CHESS TOURNAMENT. March 27, 2024.

Now, just today at the ongoing National Friends of Chess (NFOC) chess tournament holding at the Chevron Recreation Centre, Gbagada, Lagos.
Deborah Quickpen has proven again that when chess is mentioned in this country Nigeria, she is one of the major forces to be reckon with.
NFOC is not just women or female chess affairs as it has often been for her at chess tournaments.

The NFOC Blitz tournament had many of the top male chess players in the country.

Deborah finished in 3rd place. After dining with the lions and lionesses of chess in Nigeria. She really did well with the dishes that were served before her.😂

Some of the unbelievably strong players that fell victim of DEBBYQUICK with blitz rating of 1937 show of strength at the NFOC Blitz tournament include:

Koko Obubele rated 2089,
Okemakinde Toluwanimi rated 2062,
Ogbogho Dennis rated 2018.

Of worth of mention, is Deborah Quickpen's game against Edet Udeme Dominic rated 2133.
Edet Dominic was ranking 1st at the tournament having won 7 games with a draw until he met Deborah Quickpen in game 9. She simply put an end to Edet Dominic winning streak.
Don't ever win 7 games before meeting Quickpen in the month of March. 😂😂😂😂 ask Jesse February. 😢

But in game 10, Nigerian super- experienced IM Balogun Oluwafemi Daniel rated 2157 simply showed DebbyQuick how not to play chess blitz games.

One will think, now that Deborah Quickpen, playing against the two highest rated players at the blitz tournament in her Game 10 and 11 respectively......

...and with IM Balogun Oluwafemi Daniel rated 2157 show of strength over Deborah,

......that Game 11 will just be a walkover for the highest rated player at the tournament:
IM Odion Aikhoje rated 2292.

Then, the unexpected happened, 😯

Quickpen finished with 8.5 points out of 11.

Edet Udeme Dominic ranked 1st at the tournament. He had a tie with IM Balogun Oluwafemi. They both finished with 9 /11 points, with Deborah Quickpen closely following behind them with 8.5/11 points.

Edet Udeme Dominic lost only one game. His game against Deborah Quickpen.

Deborah Quickpen fought really well, she ranked 3rd out of 103 players.

This is one of the most beautiful outings for the 11 year old wonder girl DEBORAH QUICKPEN.

Keep soaring higher and higher. 👍

This is a very great feat for a 12 year old girl in a field of the best players in Nigeria male and female . She deserves more recognition and encouragement.

Impossible is nothing... With how difficult it could be in chess, She still got this great result

For me, this is an outstanding performance for a young champ like this.
This is just the beginning of greatness in Quikpen's life of chess
