✍🏾One thing I can vividly remember my parents never doing is owning up to their mistakes.

They'd even rather die, than make a mistake in plain view of their kids.

As a child, I saw my mum as infallible, like she could do no wrong. But when I started coming into my self, I realized how wrong both my mum and myself were.

Oh! How fallible she was and how gullible I was.

Dear Mamma,

I know you already know the '*Do as I say' concept rarely works.

This is a do as I do era, and the best lesson you can ever teach your kids is to let them see you fail and recover from that failure with integrity and dignity.

Weeks back, after I fell during my kids interhouse sport parents race, I quickly stood up and continued the race until I was stopped

In my mind at the time I had embarrassed the boys but something happened last week that made me want to fail every week in their presence for them to learn lessons. As it seemed to work better and faster.

Bottom line is, these kids see you, they see your every move and they subconsciously take note of every unspoken lesson.

So don't be ashamed of making mistakes before them. Nobody is above mistakes.

Remember, the lesson is in how you react to the mistakes.

So do better mamma and be intentional .
