His Excellency, Gov Kefas Agbu has nominated and extended an official invitation to Gen. TY Danjuma, GCON(rtd) to grace the famous 2024 Nwunyo Fishing and Cultural festival and also serve as the CHAIRMAN OF THE OCCASION.

Earlier today, a high powered delegation set up by Gov Kefas and led by H. E Alh Aminu Alkali, Deputy Gov of Taraba and Chairman Committee Nwunyo Fishing Festival which also includes the Hon Commissioner, ministry of Heritage and Ecotourism, Aku Uka of Wukari, Chief of Ibi, CAN Chairman and all members of Nwonyo Invitation Committee were at the Takum residence of the General to present the nomination and official invitation.

HRH. Ishaku Ada Ali, the Aku Uka of Wukari during an introductory session enumerated the numerous achievements of Gov Kefas Agbu in Taraba State since his assumption of office and the revival of festive activities Taraba State.

In the same vein, the Chairman Committee of 2024 Nwonyo Fishing Festival who doubles as the leader of the delegation explained in details why the Abonta of Kwarrarafa’s blessing will be dearly needed at the Festival. He further noted that, Taraba state is very rich in culture and tourism and the administration of Gov Kefas Agbu is ready to harness it to full potential and he presented the nomination and invitation letter on behalf of the Governor of Taraba State, Gov Kefas Agbu.

In his response, the Gen. Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma, GCON (rtd), the Abonta (Generallisimo) of Kwarararfa Kingdom, Gangbaru (Field Marshal) of Donga, Ochiagha of Obowo-Etiti (Imo State), Jarman (Great warrior) of Zazzau, Ajagunla of Isakan, Akure (Ondo State) applauded Gov Kefas for his transformative initiatives in Taraba state which includes the revitalization of cultural and tourism activities.

The living legend and iconic general who bestrode the military landscape like a colossus was obviously elated and welcomed the nomination/invitation wholeheartedly and promised to be present at the 2024 Nwunyo Fishing Festival billed for April, 19th -20th, 2024. He further said, securing cultural heritage is our collective responsibility and as such, it is important he grace the epoch making occasion.
