Pls where you base, I always wonder how people says they have not been seeing the impact of the dollar fall, I bought a bag of rice in my area last week Friday at #65000 against #79000. The same with groundnut oil and other things they have started coming down

May God help you if you're planning to sell and you have it in quantities.
Rice was sold for #40k in Shaki area of Oyo state this morning.
And this could be an imported rice as Shaki is a boarder town.
Price of rice is seriously crashing, people are posting funny prices from different locations.

If I am made the CBN governor today, and I want the naira to exchange at 500 naira to a dollar, I will comfortably do that.

Just do what he did, get more dollar, sell to BDCs and mandate them to sell at a price, that's all. Its called FIXED exchange rate régime.
Thank God your are not the CBN governor with this your Alaba analogy.

Omo when I sent money to my guy 2 days ago, my body do me one kind thing like I’ve been scammed. Imagine $$ wey you go send $100 give people wey them go praise you coz like 170k go biza, now that same $100 na just normal 100k.

Naira at almost N1097, today trading almost closer to N1000.

Cardoso should just make sure it never go above 1k ever again. They should deploy every strategy and make sure it get to a certain amount and stabilize.

God bless Nigeria.

I presume you are abroad, which ever rate the dollar is in Nigeria how is it a scam to you, infact people in diaspora are the "scam" ... lil change you make there you come home or send and start feeling like odogwu, $100 to 170k is ridiculous

I am not angry the naira rate is low, infact I am delighted.

But why I said what I said is just a natural instinct to price change.

There are some people you put on a monthly payment in Nigeria. So let’s say normally, you send 200k to someone monthly.

—If $ exchange to naira at N1700, you only get to send $117 to the person.
—If $ exchange to naira at N1000, you will need to send $200 to the person.

Now imagine you send money to 5 different people monthly, wouldn’t that mean something to you? You can’t decrease the money you send because prices in Nigeria still remain same.

That was why I jokingly said it felt like a scam. Not that I’m complaining. Infact I love it and have always prayed for dollar to fall.

Less stress on the naira unlike before. We produce more oil now.

Dangote is giving us aviation fuel and diesel.
More inflow due to our stock exchange. Our stock exchange based on ASI is the best in the world.
No more manipulations from BDC and Binance again

No need educating you.

What do you think it mean to fix a country currency?

But, it was not propaganda when it got to N1900?
When the naira was N1900 the prices of goods skyrocketed according.
Now that the naira is less than N1000 why are the prices of goods still high? The only way people will feel the impact of naira gaining against the dollar is in the prices of essential commodities. Why is this not happening?
