I don't understand why a parent would be so careless not to notice a child's absence for such lengthy hours or does it mean no one is around to look for them at the moment?
Quite sad

What heartless and careless parents.

How can your children leave your peripheral vision without you calling out to know where they are?

Monitor your children.

Gone are the days when parents felt safe enough to yell..." lo sere nita"..."go and play outside" without fearing the worst.

11am to 4pm inside this heat

And nobody in the neighbourhood saw or heard the cries of these babies?

So sad😡

Have you ever had someone wind up the glass of a car and ask the person to scream while you are outside?

They must had screamed but with glasses wound up, no one heard them

As a parents, if you don't see your wards within 30 minutes look for them.
This is so unfortunate. May the soul of the kids rest in peace and console the parents
30 minutes is even too much unless you're sure you left them in the custody of a vigilant person.

If you have an active child and can't see or hear his doings within 10 minutes, go and find out what's happening.

Probably they pressed the child lock button thinking it was one fun button for kids. I'm sure those kids parents didn't have cars so they didn't understand the meaning of child lock

This is pure negligence and lack of supervision from the parents of the children. It has nothing to do with hardship.
If it were to be in other climes, the parent and the owner of the abandoned vehicle would be prosecuted.
May their souls rest in peace.

Who comes out as eyewitness in this kind of tragedy? Bala or whatever should be called for more questioning instead of the vehicle owner who also was a victim.

Mind your business but not when you see kids engaging in dangerous activity or trapped in unpleasant situations.

THE SENATE SHOULD SPONSOR A LAW HOLDING PARENTS ACCOUNTABLE FOR PROTECTION OF CHILDREN.
THE AGED
THE DISABLED
THE VERY YOUNG
THE MENTALLY CHALLENGED

THESE PEOPLE DESERVE TO BE PROTECTED
EVEN IF WE HAVE EXISTING LAWS, THEY SHOULD BE ENFORCED.

I remember being locked up in my dad's car that year by one older malevolent boy who thought I would find it funny. angry. The claustrophobic feeling could have killed me. I keep calling at my brother who I was seeing but he could not see nor hear me. So sad for these children and what they must have gone through.

Re: Five Children Die In Abandoned Car In Niger by Focusmind: 8:12am On Apr 23
The carelessness of some parents in Nigeria, especially those at the bottom of the pyramid will want you to beat some of them. Poverty doesn't take away common sense. These people could be too careless and dumb. One was selling something in the market and her kids were just everywhere, roaming around without control. Keke almost killed one. Don't just leave your kids to the streets because you are hustling. Who asked you to bring them before? You should have continued with your hustle and allow them to be were they were. Some people have bastardized parenting in this country because they are poor. If you can't train your children properly, don't bother procreating. It is not a competition. Don't born and expect someone to train them for you. If you are poor , just face your Poverty alone. Don't bring children to follow you in your Poverty. We already have lots of idiots and armed robbers, who were from poor and broken homes.

When I was 8 years old, I had a smiliar experience with my father's old peugeot 505, we were doing hide and seek until I decided to go and hide my self inside the boot of our old peugeot car, for my mind I think say na me get sense pass, but I no know the kind wahala wey I don enter, until Nepa brought light and my friends all came out of their hiding places and ran inside the parlour to go and watch cartoon.
but I no fit come out, come and see how I was sweating, shouting, screaming and kicking the boot of car, like goat wey dem Wan use go do Thanksgiving for church.
Na one corper for our compound wey save me, na so my own for end. cheesy

Rip to them.
