The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) has escalated its pursuit of legal action against two prominent figures in Nigerian politics: former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, and ex-Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika.


Their alleged involvement in misappropriation of public funds has thrust them into the center of a legal maelstrom.


Bello, who stands accused of siphoning approximately N80 billion from the Kogi treasury, finds himself on the EFCC's radar for a litany of charges including money laundering, breach of trust, and misappropriation of funds totaling N80.2 billion.


The EFCC's efforts to bring Bello to justice hit a snag when his residence became the focal point of a dramatic confrontation between law enforcement officers and supporters of the embattled former governor.


Despite attempts to shield Bello from prosecution, including conflicting court orders, the EFCC remains undeterred in its quest for accountability.
