HOPE FOR LIFE INITIATIVE PARTNERS WITH NIIA TO MARK WORLD BOOK DAY IN LAGOS

The Hope for Life Initiative has announced its partnership with the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA) to commemorate World Book Day 2024. This collaboration stressed their shared commitment to promoting literacy and the love for reading. The event, themed "Read Your Way," will take place on the 30th of April, 2024, at the Nigeria Institute of International Affairs, with activities commencing at 10:00 am and the main event starting at 12:00 noon.

In a statement issued by the CEO of Hope for Life Initiative, Kendi Aig-Imoru, she expressed her enthusiasm for this partnership and emphasized the importance of fostering a culture of reading, particularly in today's fast-paced world. "Books have the power to inspire, educate, and transform lives. By celebrating World Book Day together with the NIIA, we aim to ignite a passion for reading and knowledge acquisition among individuals of all ages," said Aig-Imoru.

The World Book Day event will feature an engaging panel discussion comprising distinguished personalities in the literary and academic spheres. Among the esteemed panelists are Dr. Olatunbosun Taofeek, a creative writer and principal researcher at Grecian Books; Mallam Denja Abdulahi, former President of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA); Sir Folu Agoi, President of Nigerian Centre for PEN International; and Adesuwa O. Erediauwa, a senior research fellow specializing in International Economic Relations at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs.

Attendees can look forward to insightful discussions on the significance of literature in society, the role of books in shaping cultural identities, and the impact of reading on personal and professional development. The panelists will also share their experiences and perspectives on nurturing a thriving literary ecosystem in Nigeria and beyond.

In addition to the panel discussion, there will be an exhibition showcasing a diverse array of books and literary works, providing attendees with the opportunity to explore and discover new titles across various genres. This interactive experience aims to celebrate the richness of literature while encouraging a love for reading among participants.

“As we come together to celebrate World Book Day, let us reaffirm our commitment to promoting literacy, expanding access to knowledge, and unlocking the boundless potential that lies within the pages of a book. Together, through initiatives like this, we can cultivate a brighter future filled with hope, inspiration, and endless possibilities.” said Aig-Imoru.
