Hello,I am a boy of 26 years old and I and my elder brother lives together in my aunt's house in benin..I recently moved in about a year ago because ever since,I have been in delta state working but I had to move back to benin due to some issues..I have my own room here and I don't cross my lane..and I am the one who takes responsibility for feeding and some other bills in this house.i spend close to 200k monthly just for feeding ever since I came back to benin.note that my brother lives here with his girlfriend who just gave birth recently and my girlfriend do visit me sometimes and spend a few days and go back..but the problem is,there was a day a friend of mine visited me,my elder brother became angry and he said I should be taking permissions from him before bringing any of my friends home.he said I must take permission from him..ever since, any friends who wants to come and visit me,I always find a story to tell them so they wouldn't come to my place because I can't imagine myself, a 26 years old taking permission from my elder brother before a friend comes visiting me.so I always tell them an excuse on why they shouldn't come..so recently, I started thinking of parking out and renting a house so i can be on my own, somehow, the news got to my brother and he was angry all of a sudden.saying I am too young to rent a house and stay on my own.like a 26 years old man is too young to stay alone?well,I know where the problem is..because when I leave and rent my house, obviously I will no longer be taking care of the feeding expenses and also,I have a car and he is the one that drives the car the most.most people do think the car belongs to him because I hardly drive it and I hardly go out..so I think its because of the car and the feeding also.thats what is making him angry but my mind is made up. I can't keep giving my friends excuses on why they shouldn't visit me or take permission from him before a friend comes to visit me.so I am planning to rent my own apartment. Because I believe with or without me,everybody will be fine

The DISRESPECT is too much. You need to leave.

Spending #200k/month to because you feed 2 extra ADULTS and you still end up being disrespected.

That's NONSENSE!

If you don't leave now, the disrespect will ESCALATE to physical slaps and it'll become a family matter when you retaliate.

Start looking for apartments ASAP. Let him and his family feel the effects of YOUR subsidy removal. grin

Meantime, take your car keys from him and tell him to ask for your permission before using it in the future.

Disrespectful people who are also ENTITLED are the worst.

He said i am too young to stay alone, that my girlfriend is the one who is giving me bad advice..according to him,he wants us to move to our own house when we leave here..me when never even start to dey build,I never even dey think of that building of house now.but I know where the problem is
1- its about the car.ever since I bought that car,he has become extremely lazy that if he doesn't see that car,he is not willing to take public transport..but for me,when he drives out sometimes and I have somewhere important to go,I do take public transport. But he can't take public transport ever since I bought that car..and most people thinks the car belongs to him too because I hardly drive it,sometimes, I don't use the car a week or 2 but he drives it almost everyday. So the shame of "people think say I get car" Naim dey pain am

And also the feeding, I spend close to 200k monthly just for foodstuffs.
