. I am writing to seek urgent advice and assistance regarding a pressing matter concerning my daughter's need for Nigerian travel documentation.

The urgency of the situation stems from the fact that my daughter's father has adamantly refused to sign for a Nigerian passport or visa for her. Despite our lack of marital ties (we were never married) and our separation for the past nine years, he is obstructing her ability to obtain the necessary travel documentation.

It is important to note that her father has very little involvement in her life, and their interactions are minimal. This lack of paternal presence has left me as the primary caregiver and decision-maker for her welfare.

The refusal to provide consent for her travel documents has left me in a difficult predicament. I have impending travel plans in July and October, and I cannot leave her behind in the UK as her father's family is unable to accommodate her. Furthermore, I am scheduled to get married next year, and it is imperative that my daughter attends both the traditional and legal ceremonies, given my Nigerian heritage and familial ties.

Despite her sincere desire to accompany me on these trips and attend important family events, her attempts to communicate with her father and grandmother have been met with silence and denial, leaving her disheartened and frustrated.

I have exhausted all means of communication with her father, but my efforts have been futile as he continues to ignore my requests. This has led me to question whether there is a possibility of waiving the requirement for parental consent in this situation, given the extenuating circumstances and the urgent need for travel documentation.

I currently have a pending court date regarding this matter, but it has been delayed due to judicial time constraints. However, the urgency of the situation cannot be overstated, and I cannot afford to wait any longer for a resolution.

As a dual citizen of the UK and Nigeria, I understand the importance of adhering to legal requirements for travel documentation. However, I am hopeful that there may be provisions or waivers available in cases of extreme necessity and hardship, such as the one I am currently facing.

I kindly request your guidance and assistance in navigating this complex situation. Any advice, support, or recommendations you can provide would be greatly appreciated as I seek to ensure my daughter's ability to travel and participate in important family events.

This situation has left us utterly distraught and saddened by the obstacles preventing her from joining me on these important trips and family events.
