Herdsmen attack a community in Enugu, with several believed dead and others injured

The Nimbo community in Enugu State’s Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area has once more been targeted by suspected Fulani herdsmen.

Some people lost their lives in the late-night attack on Sunday, while numerous others suffered serious injuries.

According to sources, the herdsmen attacked the mourning at the Ugwuijoro Nimbo community, causing them to cry and express their sorrow.

Okeh Simon Ugwu Oruku, Okeh Chukwuebuka, Julius Ogbonna Odiegwu, and Gabriel Ugwor Ezea were among those slain. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

Reporters saw a grisly video on Monday morning that appeared to show an abandoned community.

The voice on the video yelled out, saying that the invaders shot intermittently at the mourners, taking the residents by surprise.

The enclosure where the mourners had assembled was littered with tables and chairs, and dead villagers could be seen in the pool of their blood.

Recall that Nimbo was also attacked in 2016, leading to the death of scores.

The incident attracted a nationwide outrage then.
