@ Justwise and everyone in the house:

Now the question about my sponsor.
I work and earn fairly good as a fresh grad(finished NYSC last June and started working in August) but my brother is going to be my sponsor.
From the UKBA website it says you either sponsor yourself (have the money in your account for at least 28 days), or use a sponsor.
It's not stated categorically if your sponsor can deposit the money in your account(I feel if one opts for this it may be seen as a way of escaping all the paperwork involved in using your sponsor's bank statement)
I'm trying to avoid depositing the money in my account and being asked "how come you have so much money and you've only been working for 10months?".
what supporting documents should be obtained from my sponsor should this scenario be possible? that is depositing d money into my account.
Personally, I would prefer to have the money in my account.
Any suggestions?

That is the core part of student visa requirements, you have to show that you have the school fees and the maintenance money for the duration of your course. There is no other way of going about it

@ justwise, kudos for ur support so far..please i need ur advice..i got an unconditional admission letter to study in uk...do i ned to pay any fee before i can apply to embassy, how much is expected to be in my account.also, ive once been refused a study permit in 2007 as an undergraduate and am now applying for masters.will the earlier refusal affect my current application...kindly advice me
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part2 by kunlewoye(m): 8:15am On May 28, 2012
@Olaremy2k: For them to have given u an UNconditional offer letter then you must have satisfied their minimum requirements. What about your CAS number? I'm not sure the other refusal hld affect this; jst make sure you do not lie when they ask if you'v been refused b4.

Why were you refused a visa in 2007? How much is your school fees? And is your school in London or outside London?

Someone pointed earlier that you can get a letter from waec acknowledging that you are the actual owner of the result and i confirmed it to be true. It costs 10K.

@justwise
Is it compulsory i submit my waec certificate?(its not included as a document used for admission in my cas.) I intend to submit it with an affidavit cos of the spelling mistake. Just want to get your opinion.

Any one to university of conventry?
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part2 by kunlewoye(m): 8:47am On May 29, 2012
@ A-Zed; wher did you confirm it? Wld like to know. I was @ my school after waec instructed me to get a letter frm the princpal. The school is in Osun state so the letter was addressed to WAEC Osogbo as that's the regional office under which my school was placed. I still have the letter here with me as I'm in Abj due to work commitments bt will go to waec, Osogbo later in June when I'm about applying to obtain the letter. I hope it won't take forever to obtain the letter as this whole process has made me lie a lot of times to get free time away from work. I'm nt even sure if I'd be referred to Lagos to get the letter. I also intend to use this period to obtain a letter of attestation that can be verified frm my uni. Pls does any1 kno other things I should obtain? I don't want to have to b absent frm work again after this period. Thanks.

@A-zed, are u for this sept? . I'm nt sure it's allowed to post one's number or pin on here; wld like to av a chat.
On a sidenote, my 3k deposit was returned by my frnd in d uk ystrday sayin he cld only withdraw 500/day and den b charged £4/wthdrawal.does any1 know how to transfer d money to the school easily?
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part2 by kunlewoye(m): 8:57am On May 29, 2012
@A-Zed: did u present your waec cert to the school for any reason? I actually sent an affidavit in with my. Waec cert jst incase it's possible to state on d cas that I was offered admission based on d cert + affidavit. Jst makin sure I avoid dat "deliberate deception" thingy.

This link will answer all that questions and many more http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/applicationforms/pbs/Tier4migrantguidance.pdf

Just to add. . . if you deposited that money you can not withdraw it immediately, it has to be in your account for 28days before you make your application AND available to you in the UK

@Justwise and other student travel experts, I have to confess, you guys are doing a very great job here.

I got an unconditional offer of scholarship for my MSc at Queen's University,Belfast last Wednesday(23/05/2012), scholarship covers entire tuition and I will be responsible for my living expenses. I accepted the offer and 5 days later, I made enquiries as regards when I should expect my CAS from the international office of the school and I was informed it should be from early to mid June. My questions are:

1. My dad said if he pays 3million NGN into any of my accounts, the EFCC will be alerted since I opened my main account when I was an undergraduate student and my other two bank accounts during my NYSC. He said I didn't update my account as a job holder so they might question the source. Guys that understand current bank trends and operations, how true is this?

2. If he eventually leaves the money in his account for him to be my sponsor and I use his bank account statement, will the following documents suffice to show our relationship--personal letter to establish father-son relationship which will include his phone number in case of contact, photocopy of his Nigerian passport(Or is original preferable?), his birth certificate(Should his be original?) and my birth certificate?

3. The transcript I used in getting admission was not addressed to the school I applied to, it was addressed to a Nigerian address, so I didn't include the accompanying addressed letter during application to Queen's. Now that I will have to show originals I used to apply to my school during my visa application, should I submit the transcript along with the accompanying addressed letter to a Nigerian address or leave it out?

Thank you all as you attempt to proffer solutions to my worries. I am grateful in advance o.

1.Your daddy will not have any problem with EFCC he pays that money into your account, its not money laundry and its just for your fees, its still ok if he leaves it in his account.

2. Birth certificate is enough to prove the relationship between you and your daddy but adding other documents you listed there will not harm your application.

Rephrase your 3rd question because i don't really get it
