Defence of one's life and family is of utmost importance if done in such a way as to try and escape from the immediate threat , but not to cause loss of life on the other side. If you notice I did not say defend your property, your property is not worth dying for , but your family which includes wife and children is.

Surely we do not want to Islamise Christianity , let us use wisdom, if you have none, ask God and he will supply you no end.

Remember again, defence to protect life and family while seeking for a way to remove yourself from the immediate threat is fine in my humble opinion.
