i heard some PDP members were taking part in the political events of the games. Which event is Alhaji Ali (PDP chairman) taking part in? Do you think we may come home with some political gold medals?

I'm not sure what you're talking about there has been nothing like that announced on TV or the news.

Security is a big thing though yesterday I had about 5 helicopter's hovering about (there holding some events about 10km away) , apparantly it's a no fly zone above melbourne which stretchs 75km2 and anything in that will be intercepted and shot down,

I like planes so I get to see all sorts of different militry ones which is a good change cheesy

First gold medal just went to India
Canada came in second
Australia for bronze

It was women's weight lifting (though the indian one looked more masculin than half the guys at school )

@ Hazeleyes

Dont bother yourself about us been on the table.
Definitely we will when Athletics starts but the most dissapointing part of it is our Weightlifting withdrawal.

Congratulations Nigeria
3 Medal's already! (Gold, silver and bronze)
I expect more from track and field events :-)

Best medal tally site i've found is
http://foxsports.news.com.au/commgames/medaltally/

I've watched a fair bit on TV as well, the sprints were really exciting tonight in the semi final there were 3 false starts (meaning the removal of 2 of the people!)

If any of you see the shooting events on the tv thats in my area.

the siera leones are very good at it grin

i thought nigerian basketball team were good but they can even get any 3-pointer na wa o , just raw talent nothing else

i wonder how much australia spends on sports developement, im guessing it more than what nigeria spends on health grin

one nigeria coach got sent to the stands for using his MOBILE PHONE!!

Its was like someone was telling him want to say,, the athlete was in the EAD category n he kept shouting Yoruba to her i think she's igbo Faith Obiora in the table tennis competition

some nigerian coaches dont have any qualifications they dont coach they shout orders at their athletes

@Loverbwoy

You never appreciate anything in Nigeria.

Before you crucify your country, do a research before commenting.

Do you think all those Western Countries spend money from Government purse to develop their sports?

What is coaching certificate for God sake? Its not practical is just theoretical. So, Somebody like Dan Amokachi will come himself a coach as well?

Is it not better for the coach to south to her in Yoruba while he knows its better than speaking in general English? cool
