Hello,

Please just bought Multilinks Router for my cafe but am away from the location.

Need to know how to share this router on my already build LAN Network. I will then send instructions

to the person handling the small cafe( 10 Pcs)

Please be detailed so it helps me and others.

I'm in a hitch too. I just bought a Mobitel router and i can't get my Cyberklock to run "actively" on the LAN connection. Except i use the admin password to disable the screen shield, customers in my cafe can't browse normally like before. Now i calculate their time based on the wall clock.

ABout the Route problem

You can configure your Modem Via USB at the Back of the Router Or Through your computer

If your Router does not detect the Modem Then you will need to configure it through your computter. This is the Step to take

1 : Connect your Modem to your computer ( Make sure your computer has detected the modem and can browse with it )

2 : click on Network sharing centre

3 Click on setup a connection or network

4 click on setup a Dial up connection

4 Select the modem you want to use( The modem will display)

5 Dial up phone number type #777

6 USERNAME TYPE YOUR PHONE NUMEBER eg. 0827377228@bluebroadband.com

7 Password : type 1234

6 : select allow other user to connect through this computer

click next

7 CONNECT YOUR INTERNET CABLE TO YOUR PC AND STRATIGHT TO YOU ROUTER WAN PORT

8 CLICK on START on your computer

7 click on connect to

8 Right click on the dialup connection

9 click on properties

10 click on sharing

11 click on allow other network to share with this computer

12 select a Private Network ( Seelect LAN)

13 The click ok

13 Dial Up the Network

14 Make sure your computer is browsing

Then Go back to your Router Setting

YOU WILL SEE 3G , WAN , SELECT WAN as primary acess

Then Connect Another Internet Cable from The router to your SWITCH if you have more than for computer otherwise you can connect

I have worked on mobitel, swift, ipnx, mtn, mobitel and chinco router . Believe me they all work in the same way. Within every router is a built in dhcp software. This can handle up to 30 pcs or more. Usually, the default IP is 192.168.1.1, except if you are configuring an access point will this number change. Type that number into cenral/server pc, you would be logged into the router. Navigate your way to the menu or submenu to locate the dhcp setting, configure your dhcp and all clients obtain ip addresses. Note:make sure your server pc can already browse online i.e the router is plug and play. Plug your lan cable(most likely yellow color) from your router to switch uplink port, if any exist.

Go to all the client computers one after the other, network tabs, let the computers obtain ip addresses automatically. Might want to disable all firewall for cafe use. Then reconfigure the firewall afterwards. Thats about it. Need more help call 07025807948
