FIRSTLY, many muslims believe that the original copy of the quran wihch was given to prophet mohd still exists, and is the one since in circultion during the time of the prophet.this the say is ulike the christians whose 'original' bible is long lost.
the truth however is that there is no ornhas never been an original copy of the koran. in hadith, MISHKAT UL MASABIH, the koran was originally written in pieces and fragments on palmbranches, camel ribs and shoulderblades, wooden boards. etc. and bulk of it preserved in memories of the reciters. muslim brothers did the quran decend from heaven in such fragments from heaven?

secondly, i came across a verse in d koran that says ' I WILL MAKE THOSE WHO FOLLOW YOU JESUS SUPERIOR TO THOSE WHO DISBELIVE TILL THE DAY OF RESURRECTION' koran 3.55b. is this correct?
lastly, no dout in my mind we have many peace loving and sane muslims as friends and family but some mad men have rose up in the name of allh and his holy messenger mohd to kill people xpecially christians now please with SENTIMENTS ASIDE WHY has islam been the ONLY religion in the world used to do such evil? WHY are islamic nations the most violent and intolerant in the world? if islam is as peacful as it say such thing would not be as rampant as it is now. WHY is islam the only religion used as a tool of terrorism and hatred? sensible muslims should ask such questions, he should also ask why the holy prophet mohd didnt preach islam but forced it and in the process killed some peole ine the process (correct me if i am wrong please). PLEASE NOTE I AM NOT AN ENEMY OF ISLAM BUT IN SEARCH OF TRUTH. I HAVE NOT USED ABUSIVE OR PROVOCATIVE WORDS SO I APPEAL TO SENSIBLE MUSLIMS TO BE AS NICE IN CORRECTING ME AS POSSIBLE. ALSO I URGE TO NOT BE BASE RELIGIOUS BELIFS ON SENTIMENTS OR HOW FAR YOU HAVE GONE BUT ON TRUTH, REASON AND CONVICTIONS.

LagosShia:

do muslims believe there is anything as "original bible"?

the concept of a christian asking dishonestly a muslim to produce to him the "original bible" from which the present corrupted one came from is based on the christian supposition and the muslim misunderstanding that the injil and taurat mentioned in the Quran as revelations of Allah are in fact the bible.

that is not the case.the bible is no injil and it is not taurat.the bible instead contains traces of the injil and traces of the taurat that can clearly be identified in the bible as inspired verses where God Almighty is speaking.aside, the vast bulk of the bible is from man and his copying and editing and adding and subtraction.

therefore,we are to honestly understand that the bible itself in the book form we find it today is a corrupt text that stands on its own with variety of sources.

when the Quran asks the jews and christians to judge by what was revealed to them,it is what Jesus and Moses taught that could be distinguished then as divine teachings and not based on what is confusedly bundled and compiled in the bible.

so Islam does not recognize the bible at all as a revelation.it is a compilation from different sources that contains identifiable traces of divine revelations.so the bible itself is a corruption of revelation by posing itself as an "inspired" book.

you can see the thread below started by an enemy of Allah, trying to claim appraisal for the bible in the Quran and the response i posted:

the Quran was undoubtedly preserved in both memory and written form.presently, all muslims be us Shia or Sunni,we have the same Quran in all parts of the world.

in the days of the Prophet (sa),it was written on materials available as the ones you names.and also preserved in memory.we are told that immediately after the Prophet's (sa) death it was Imam Ali (as) that compiled the Quran with commentary and with chronological details.then there are reports also that Abu Bakr the first sunni caliph also compiled the Quran.in the time of Usthman, more lands were added to the Islamic empire and more people embraced Islam.they were from different ethnic background and languages.there was news that they have started reciting the Quran in different ways and with variants in text.upon that,Usthman, the third sunni caliph ordered that all texts with variants be collected and destroyed to avert the catasrophe the previous revelations experienced when people wrote accroing to what they heard.upon that, copies were written and sent to the differnt parts of the empire.some reports say four copies were made and sent to those distant lands.

what is important here in my view are three things:
1.) as a Shia,Imam Ali (as) did not object to the copies made by Usthman.our 12 Imams (as) starting with Imam Ali (as) did not ask us not to use the copies made during Usthman's time.

2.) there are Quranic manuscripts dating as early as 10 years after the passing of the Prophet (sa) (i.e. under Abu Bakr's reign) or perhaps earlier.and those manscripts conform to what we have today.

you can see them here:
http://www.islamic-awareness.org/Quran/Text/Mss/

http://www.islamic-awareness.org/Quran/Text/Mss/museum.html

3.) when i read the Quran presently i see no incoherence, contradiction, error or mistake even when the haters try hard to dig deep to either mistranslate, misquote or misinterprete Quranic verses.all the claims found in the Quran like the verse that says "had the Quran being from any other than Allah,we would surely have found in it much discrepancies" is proven true.i also read in it many verses that i cannot but accept that the Quran is indeed divine.

BANGZKIRKO:

secondly, i came across a verse in d koran that says ' I WILL MAKE THOSE WHO FOLLOW YOU JESUS SUPERIOR TO THOSE WHO DISBELIVE TILL THE DAY OF RESURRECTION' koran 3.55b. is this correct?

"those who follow Jesus" in that verse does not refer to anyone who:

a.) believes in trinity.the Quran says those who believe in trinity have disbelieved in God Almighty
b.) those who believe Jesus (as) was killed or crucified.the Quran says he was neither killed nor crucified.
c.) anyone who believes Jesus (as) is a "god".

you can read below an authoritative commentary on verse 3:55 and see who are "those who follow Jesus":

[Shakir 3:55] And when Allah said: O Isa, I am going to terminate the period of your stay (on earth) and cause you to ascend unto Me and purify you of those who disbelieve and make those who follow you above those who disbelieve to the day of resurrection; then to Me shall be your return, so l will decide between you concerning that in which you differed.

[Pooya/Ali Commentary 3:55]
As stated in verses 45 to 47 of this surah (please refer to their commentary) the birth of Isa was a miracle. His departure from this world to the heaven, alive, was also a miracle. It is stated in Minhaj al Sadiqin that Isa was kept in custody in a room during the night following which he was to be crucified in the morning. At daybreak, Judas the hypocrite companion of Isa, who had betrayed him to the Roman soldiers, went into the room to escort Isa to the place of crucifixion. As soon as he entered the room, he was miraculously transformed into a person who resembled Isa. When he came out of the room the Roman soldiers took him to the cross and crucified him, in spite of his loud and desperate protestations.

In Badshah Husain's English translation of the Holy Quran, Sale is quoted on page 14 of Vol. 11. as under:

"It is supposed by several that this story was an original of Mohammad's but they are certainly mistaken, for several sectarians held the same opinion, long before his time. The Basilidians (Irrenus I.I.C 23 and C. Epiphan Haeres 24 num III) in the very beginning of Christianity, denied that Christ himself suffered, but that Simon the Cyraracean was crucified in his place. The Corinthians before them and the Carpocratians next (to name no more of those who affirmed Jesus to have been a mere man) did believe the same thing; it was not himself, but one of his followers very like him that was crucified. Photius tells us that he read a book entitled "The Journeys of the Apostles", relating the acts of Peter, John, Andrew, Thomas and Paul, and among other things contained therein, this was one, that Christ was not crucified, but another in his stead, and that therefore he laughed at his crucifiers (Photius Bible Cod 114, col. 291) or those who thought they had crucified him (Tolands' Nazrenus p. 17 and c.)"

The Jewish plot to kill Isa was prevented by the best of planners, the almighty Allah.

Tawaffa is to fulfil a promise. Inni mutawaffika means "I will complete your term". The word may mean death or to take away. It has been used in both its meanings in the Quran. The Ahmadi commentator, to deny the miraculous escape of Isa from being crucified, misinterprets the word tawaffa as Isa's physical death. The Holy Prophet and the holy Imams have said that Isa will come down again from the heaven before the day of resurrection and offer prayers behind Imam Muhammad al Mahdi, the last Imam in the progeny of the Holy Prophet.

"And set those who follow you (victorious) above those who disbelieve", refers to those Christians who accepted Isa as a true prophet of Allah, followed his teachings, and believed in his prophecy about the advent of the Holy Prophet. See Genesis 17: 7, 8, 20; Acts 3: 22 to 25; John 1: 19 to 21; 14: 16, 17, 26; 15:26; 16:7 to 13. The true believers in Isa, were Muslims. Those who believe in Isa as a son of God or God are infidels.

Aqa Mahdi Puya says:

The incoherent recording of the events of Isa's crucifixion, burial and resurrection in the New Testament, proves that the whole story had been fabricated to suit the doctrines of the Christian church. Paul had distorted the true faith of Isa to accommodate Roman paganism. Their story should be judged in the light of the following analysis:

(1) Those who came to arrest Isa, in the darkness of night, had never seen his face.

(2) It was Judas who, standing beside Isa, identified him.

(3) Judas' features were very much like Isa's.

(4) As the light was very dim, their faces could not be seen clearly.

(5) The soldiers were afraid of the people, who certainly would have started a struggle at any moment and made their task difficult, so they were in a great hurry.

(6) It was Judas who was crucified.

(7) The crucified body was brought down from the cross in the early hours of dawn.

(8 ) The disciples ran away from the scene and did not witness the burial.

(9) The grave, in which the crucified body was buried, was found empty.

(10) The only witness of the resurrection was Mary Magdalene whose versions, given in the four gospels, differ from each other. In some, she was there when Isa rose from the grave; and in some, when she approached the grave, she was told by another unknown witness that her Lord was raised to heaven.

(11) Isa was seen by the disciples after the resurrection

It is a fact that it was not Isa who was crucified. He was saved. His disciples gave currency to the idea of his crucifixion so that the Jews remained assured of his death, else they would have gone in his pursuit. The Roman soldiers also kept quiet in order to avoid the blame of killing a wrong person and also the certain punishment for not executing Isa. As Sale has observed in his above noted explanation, the early Christians did not believe in Isa's crucifixion.

All the Muslims, in the light of this and other verses of the Quran, do not give any credence to the false story of Isa's crucifixion and resurrection, fabricated by the Christian church.

Tawaffa (to take away), tahar (to purify), raf-a (to raise) and nuzul (to descend) are the four effects of the divine will in connection with Isa, out of which the first three have already taken place and the fourth is expected to happen, before the final resurrection. The religion of Allah shall triumph over all other religions and creeds. The light of truth shall enlighten the world, and a perfect human society shall be established before the world comes to an end. This is His promise. If tawaffa means death, then also there should be no doubt in the mind of a believer about Isa's nuzul because, as said in verses 258 to 260 of al Baqarah, Allah can give life to the dead or raise up any dead living being to life. In the opinion of Shaykh Saduq, this explanation is more credible.

If tawaffa means departure from this world without dying, then his nuzul will be re-appearance after his temporary disappearance, similar to Imam Muhammad al Mahdi, who is living on the earth as a necessary link between man and God, while Isa has been raised up unto Allah. So Isa has no jurisdiction in the matters of this world, whereas Imam Mahdi is the sole deputy of Allah to look after and take care of the terrestrial affairs. When both of them shall re-appear Isa shall follow the leadership of Imam al Mahdi.

in my view, there are many things done in the name of Islam that does not represent Islam.

why Islam is the only religion in the world used to do such evil?i dont think it is the only.it may be the most.that is okay and i can agree to that.the reason for that could be that many adherents of other religions do not follow their religion as close as muslims do.muslims devote more time and energy to observe certain practices such as praying 5 daily prayers and fasting and so many other things.

also you must keep in mind that muslims are not infallible people.they can err,go astray and do wrong things.also,it is an issue of misinterpretation.the salafist ideology which gave birth to movements such as the taliban and alqaeda are obessessed with the unbelievers and the "heretics".the salafist aka wahhabi ideology is violenet.it has indeed caused muslims and islam alot of bad image.and they only form a very small minority.so anyone who has grievance can easily be used to carry out of violence through that ideology masking islam and Quranic teachings.quite clearly, there are verses in the Quran on war and fighting.but under no circumstance should they be interpreted as asking muslims to go and kill everyone who does not believe in islam.quite clearly, those verses are stated as for the sole purpose of defense and protection of muslims against enemy attack and not for starting a war or being intolerant to others.in the Quran we are told to work for peace because the shaitan always wants to sow discord among people .we are told also there is no compulsion in rleigion and also we are not to offend anyone.

[size=18pt]Aren't there some verses of the Qur'an that condone "killing the infidel"? [/size]
By Huda, About.com Guide

Question: Aren't there some verses of the Qur'an that condone "killing the infidel"?
Answer: The Qur'an commands Muslims to stick up for themselves in a defensive battle -- i.e. if an enemy army attacks, then Muslims are to fight against that army until they stop their aggression. All of the verses that speak about fighting/war in the Qur'an are in this context.
There are some specific verses that are very often "snipped" out of context, either by critics of Islam discussing "jihadism," or by misguided Muslims themselves who wish to justify their aggressive tactics.

"Slay Them" - If They Attack You First
For example, one verse (in its snipped version) reads: "slay them wherever you catch them" (Qur'an 2:191). But who is this referring to? Who are "they" that this verse discusses? The preceding and following verses give the correct context:
"Fight in the cause of God those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for God loves not transgressors. And slay them wherever you catch them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out; for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter, But if they cease, God is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful, If they cease, let there be no hostility except to those who practice oppression" (2:190-193).
It is clear from the context that these verses are discussing a defensive war, when a Muslim community is attacked without reason, oppressed and prevented from practicing their faith. In these circumstances, permission is given to fight back -- but even then Muslims are instructed not to transgress limits, and to cease fighting as soon as the attacker gives up. Even in these circumstances, Muslim are only to fight directly against those who are attacking them, not innocent bystanders or non-combatants.

"Fight the Pagans" - If They Break Treaties
A similar verse can be found in chapter 9, verse 5 -- which in its snipped, out of context version could read: "fight and slay the pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war)." Again, the preceding and following verses give the context.
This verse was revealed during a historical period when the small Muslim community had entered into treaties with neighboring tribes (Jewish, Christian, and pagan). Several of the pagan tribes had violated the terms of their treaty, secretly aiding an enemy attack against the Muslim community. The verse directly before this one instructs the Muslims to continue to honor treaties with anyone who has not since betrayed them, because fulfilling agreements is considered a righteous action. Then the verse continues, that those who have violated the terms of the treaty have declared war, so fight them, (as quoted above).

Directly after this permission to fight, the same verse continues, "but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practice regular charity, then open the way for them, for God is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful." The subsequent verses instruct the Muslims to grant asylum to any member of the pagan tribe/army who asks for it, and again reminds that "as long as these stand true to you, stand ye true to them: for God loves the righteous."

Conclusion
Any verse that is quoted out of context misses the whole point of the message of the Qur'an. Nowhere in the Qur'an can be found support for indiscriminate slaughter, the killing of non-combatants, or murder of innocent persons in 'payback' for another people's alleged crimes.
The Islamic teachings on this subject can be summed up in the following verses (Qur'an 60:7-cool:
"It may be that God will grant love (and friendship) between you and those whom ye (now) hold as enemies. For God has power (over all things), and God is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
God does not forbid you, with regard to those who fight you not for (your) faith nor drive you out of your homes, from dealing kindly and justly with them: for God loves those who are just."

Here is Muhammad's boy again the Shia Kaffur lying through his teeth.

When will you ever stop lying .

"You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies." - John 8 ;44

So tell me Sir , all the Islamic conquests in Arabia, Persia , the eastern Byzantine empire etc, were they wars of self defense  undecided

Typical Jihad logic.

Anyway let us quickly race through a few peaceful verses in your so called Holy Book.   cheesy

The Quran:

Quran (2:191-193) - "And slay them wherever ye find them, and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution [of Muslims] is worse than slaughter [of non-believers],  but if they desist, then lo! Allah is forgiving and merciful.   And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for Allah."  The historical context of this passage is not defensive warfare, since Muhammad and his Muslims had just relocated to Medina and were not under attack by their Meccan adversaries.  In fact, the verses urge offensive warfare, in that Muslims are to drive Meccans out of their own city (which they later did).  The use of the word "persecution" by some Muslim translators is thus disingenuous (the actual Muslim words for persecution - "idtihad" - and oppression - a variation of "z-l-m" - do not appear in the verse).  The actual Arabic comes from "fitna" which can mean disbelief, or the disorder that results from unbelief or temptation.  Taken as a whole, the context makes clear that violence is being authorized until "religion is for Allah" - ie. unbelievers desist in their unbelief.

Quran (2:244) - "Then fight in the cause of Allah, and know that Allah Heareth and knoweth all things."

Quran (2:216) - "Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not."  Not only does this verse establish that violence can be virtuous, but it also contradicts the myth that fighting is intended only in self-defense, since the audience was obviously not under attack at the time.  From the Hadith, we know that this verse was narrated at a time that Muhammad was actually trying to motivate his people into raiding merchant caravans for loot.

Quran (3:56) - "As to those who reject faith, I will punish them with terrible agony in this world and in the Hereafter, nor will they have anyone to help."

Quran (3:151) - "Soon shall We cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers, for that they joined companions with Allah, for which He had sent no authority".  This speaks directly of polytheists, yet it also includes Christians, since they believe in the Trinity (ie. what Muhammad incorrectly believed to be 'joining companions to Allah').

Quran (4:74) - "Let those fight in the way of Allah who sell the life of this world for the other. Whoso fighteth in the way of Allah, be he slain or be he victorious, on him We shall bestow a vast reward."  The martyrs of Islam are unlike the early Christians, led meekly to the slaughter.  These Muslims are killed in battle, as they attempt to inflict death and destruction for the cause of Allah.  Here is the theological basis for today's suicide bombers.

Quran (4:76) - "Those who believe fight in the cause of Allah…"

Quran (4:89) - "They but wish that ye should reject Faith, as they do, and thus be on the same footing (as they): But take not friends from their ranks until they flee in the way of Allah (From what is forbidden). But if they turn renegades, seize them and slay them wherever ye find them; and (in any case) take no friends or helpers from their ranks."

Quran (4:95) - "Not equal are those believers who sit (at home) and receive no hurt, and those who strive and fight in the cause of Allah with their goods and their persons. Allah hath granted a grade higher to those who strive and fight with their goods and persons than to those who sit (at home). Unto all (in Faith) Hath Allah promised good: But those who strive and fight Hath He distinguished above those who sit (at home) by a special reward,-"  This passage criticizes "peaceful" Muslims who do not join in the violence, letting them know that they are less worthy in Allah's eyes.  It also demolishes the modern myth that "Jihad" doesn't mean holy war in the Quran, but rather a spiritual struggle.  Not only is the Arabic word used in this passage, but it is clearly not referring to anything spiritual, since the physically disabled are given exemption.  (The Hadith reveals the context of the passage to be in response to a blind man's protest that he is unable to engage in Jihad and this is reflected in other translations of the verse).

Quran (4:104) - "And be not weak hearted in pursuit of the enemy; if you suffer pain, then surely they (too) suffer pain as you suffer pain, "  Is pursuing an injured and retreating enemy really an act of self-defense?

Quran (5:33) - "The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His messenger and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have a grievous chastisement"

Quran (8:12) - "I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them"  No reasonable person would interpret this to mean a spiritual struggle.

Quran (8:15) - "O ye who believe! When ye meet those who disbelieve in battle, turn not your backs to them. (16)Whoso on that day turneth his back to them, unless maneuvering for battle or intent to join a company, he truly hath incurred wrath from Allah, and his habitation will be hell, a hapless journey's end."

Quran (8:39) - "And fight with them until there is no more fitna (disorder, unbelief) and religion should be only for Allah"  Some translations interpret "fitna" as "persecution", but the traditional understanding of this word is not supported by the historical context (See notes for  2:293, also).  The Meccans were simply refusing Muhammad access to their city during Haj.  Other Muslims were allowed to travel there - just not as an armed group, since Muhammad had declared war on Mecca prior to his eviction.  The Meccans were also acting in defense of their religion, since it was Muhammad's intention to destroy their idols and establish Islam by force (which he later did).  Hence the critical part of this verse is to fight until "religion is only for Allah", meaning that the true justification of violence was the unbelief of the opposition.  According to the Sira (Ibn Ishaq/Hisham 324) Muhammad further explains that "Allah must have no rivals."

Quran (8:57) - "If thou comest on them in the war, deal with them so as to strike fear in those who are behind them, that haply they may remember."

Quran (8:59-60) - "And let not those who disbelieve suppose that they can outstrip (Allah's Purpose). Lo! they cannot escape.  Make ready for them all thou canst of (armed) force and of horses tethered, that thereby ye may dismay the enemy of Allah and your enemy."

Quran (8:65) - "O Prophet, exhort the believers to fight, "

Quran (9:5) - "So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, leave their way free to them."  According to this verse, the best way of staying safe from Muslim violence is to convert to Islam.  Prayer (salat) and the poor tax (zakat) are among the religions Five Pillars.

Quran (9:14) - "Fight them, Allah will punish them by your hands and bring them to disgrace, "

Quran (9:20) - "Those who believe, and have left their homes and striven with their wealth and their lives in Allah's way are of much greater worth in Allah's sight. These are they who are triumphant."  The "striving" spoken of here is Jihad.

Quran (9:29) - "Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued."  "People of the Book" refers to Christians and Jews.  This was one of the final "revelations" from Allah and it set in motion the tenacious military expansion, in which Muhammad's companions managed to conquer two-thirds of the Christian world in just the next 100 years.  Islam is intended to dominate all other people and faiths.

Quran (9:30) - "And the Jews say: Ezra is the son of Allah; and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them; how they are turned away!"

Quran (9:38-39) - "O ye who believe! what is the matter with you, that, when ye are asked to go forth in the cause of Allah, ye cling heavily to the earth? Do ye prefer the life of this world to the Hereafter? But little is the comfort of this life, as compared with the Hereafter. Unless ye go forth, He will punish you with a grievous penalty, and put others in your place."  This is a warning to those who refuse to fight, that they will be punished with Hell.

Quran (9:41) - "Go forth, light-armed and heavy-armed, and strive with your wealth and your lives in the way of Allah! That is best for you if ye but knew."  See also the verse that follows (9:42) - "If there had been immediate gain (in sight), and the journey easy, they would (all) without doubt have followed thee, but the distance was long, (and weighed) on them"  This contradicts the myth that Muslims are to fight only in self-defense, since the wording implies that battle will be waged a long distance from home (in another country and on Christian soil, in this case, according to the historians).

Quran (9:73) - "O Prophet! strive hard against the unbelievers and the hypocrites and be unyielding to them; and their abode is hell, and evil is the destination."  Dehumanizing those who reject Islam, by reminding Muslims that they are merely firewood for Hell, makes it easier to justify slaughter.  It also explains why today's devout Muslims have little regard for those outside the faith.

Quran (9:88) - "But the Messenger, and those who believe with him, strive and fight with their wealth and their persons: for them are (all) good things: and it is they who will prosper."

Quran (9:111) - "Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their goods; for theirs (in return) is the garden (of Paradise): they fight in His cause, and slay and are slain: a promise binding on Him in truth, through the Law, the Gospel, and the Quran: and who is more faithful to his covenant than Allah? then rejoice in the bargain which ye have concluded: that is the achievement supreme."

Quran (9:123) - "O you who believe! fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you and let them find in you hardness."

Quran (17:16) - "And when We wish to destroy a town, We send Our commandment to the people of it who lead easy lives, but they transgress therein; thus the word proves true against it, so We destroy it with utter destruction."  Note that the crime is moral transgression, and the punishment is "utter destruction."  (Before ordering the 9/11 attacks, Osama bin Laden first issued Americans an invitation to Islam).

Quran (18:65-81) - This parable lays the theological groundwork for honor killings, in which a family member is murdered because they brought shame to the family, either through apostasy or perceived moral indiscretion.  The story (which is not found in any Jewish or Christian source) tells of Moses encountering a man with "special knowledge" who does things which don't seem to make sense on the surface, but are then justified according to later explanation.  One such action is to murder a youth for no apparent reason (74).  However, the wise man later explains that it was feared that the boy would "grieve" his parents by "disobedience and ingratitude."  He was killed so that Allah could provide them a 'better' son.  (Note: This is one reason why honor killing is sanctioned by Sharia.  Reliance of the Traveler (Umdat al-Saliq) says that punishment for murder is not applicable when a parent or grandparent kills their offspring (o.1.1-2).)

Quran (21:44) - "We gave the good things of this life to these men and their fathers until the period grew long for them; See they not that We gradually reduce the land (in their control) from its outlying borders? Is it then they who will win?"

Quran (25:52) - "Therefore listen not to the Unbelievers, but strive against them with the utmost strenuousness, "   "Strive against" is Jihad - obviously not in the personal context.  It's also significant to point out that this is a Meccan verse.

Quran (33:60-62) - "If the hypocrites, and those in whose hearts is a disease, and the alarmists in the city do not cease, We verily shall urge thee on against them, then they will be your neighbors in it but a little while.  Accursed, they will be seized wherever found and slain with a (fierce) slaughter."   This passage sanctions the slaughter (rendered "merciless" and "horrible murder" in other translations) against three groups: Hypocrites (Muslims who refuse to "fight in the way of Allah" (3:167) and hence don't act as Muslims should), those with "diseased hearts" (which include Jews and Christians 5:51-52), and "alarmists" or "agitators who include those who merely speak out against Islam, according to Muhammad's biographers.  It is worth noting that the victims are to be sought out by Muslims, which is what today's terrorists do.  If this passage is meant merely to apply to the city of Medina, then it is unclear why it is included in Allah's eternal word to Muslim generations.

Quran (47:3-4) - "Those who reject Allah follow vanities, while those who believe follow the truth from their lord.  Thus does Allah set forth form men their lessons by similitude.  Therefore when you meet in battle those who disbelieve, then smite the necks until when you have overcome them, then make (them) prisoners,"  Those who reject Allah are to be subdued in battle.  The verse goes on to say the only reason Allah doesn't do the dirty work himself is in order to to test the faithfulness of Muslims.  Those who kill pass the test. "But if it had been Allah's Will, He could certainly have exacted retribution from them (Himself); but (He lets you fight) in order to test you, some with others. But those who are slain in the Way of Allah,- He will never let their deeds be lost."

Quran (47:35)
- "Be not weary and faint-hearted, crying for peace, when ye should be uppermost (Shakir: "have the upper hand"wink for Allah is with you,"

Quran (48:17) - "There is no blame for the blind, nor is there blame for the lame, nor is there blame for the sick (that they go not forth to war). And whoso obeyeth Allah and His messenger, He will make him enter Gardens underneath which rivers flow; and whoso turneth back, him will He punish with a painful doom."  Contemporary apologists sometimes claim that Jihad means 'spiritual struggle.'  Is so, then why are the blind, lame and sick exempted?

Quran (48:29) - "Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. And those with him are hard (ruthless) against the disbelievers and merciful among themselves"  Islam is not about treating everyone equally.  There are two very distinct standards that are applied based on religious status.

Quran (61:4) - "Surely Allah loves those who fight in His way"  Religion of Peace, indeed!  This is followed by (61:9): "He it is who has sent His Messenger (Mohammed) with guidance and the religion of truth (Islam) to make it victorious over all religions even though the infidels may resist."

Quran (61:10-12) - "O ye who believe! Shall I lead you to a bargain that will save you from a grievous Penalty?- That ye believe in Allah and His Messenger, and that ye strive (your utmost) in the Cause of Allah, with your property and your persons: That will be best for you, if ye but knew! He will forgive you your sins, and admit you to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow, and to beautiful mansions in Gardens of Eternity."  This verse was given in battle.  It uses the Arabic word, Jihad.

Quran (66:9) - "O Prophet! Strive against the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and be stern with them. Hell will be their home, a hapless journey's end."  The root word of "Jihad" is used again here.  The context is clearly holy war, and the scope of violence is broadened to include "hypocrites" - those who call themselves Muslims but do not act as such.

From the Hadith:

Bukhari (52:177) - Allah's Apostle said, "The Hour will not be established until you fight with the Jews, and the stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will say. "O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him."

Bukhari (52:256) - The Prophet,  was asked whether it was permissible to attack the pagan warriors at night with the probability of exposing their women and children to danger. The Prophet replied, "They (i.e. women and children) are from them (i.e. pagans)."  In this command, Muhammad establishes that it is permissible to kill non-combatants in the process of killing a perceived enemy.  This provides justification for the many Islamic terror bombings.

Bukhari (52:220) - Allah's Apostle said,  'I have been made victorious with terror'

Abu Dawud (14:2526) - The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: Three things are the roots of faith: to refrain from (killing) a person who utters, "There is no god but Allah" and not to declare him unbeliever whatever sin he commits, and not to excommunicate him from Islam for his any action; and jihad will be performed continuously since the day Allah sent me as a prophet until the day the last member of my community will fight with the Dajjal (Antichrist)

Abu Dawud (14:2527) - The Prophet said: Striving in the path of Allah (jihad) is incumbent on you along with every ruler, whether he is pious or impious

Muslim (1:33) - the Messenger of Allah said: I have been commanded to fight against people till they testify that there is no god but Allah, that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah

Bukhari (8:387) - Allah's Apostle said, "I have been ordered to fight the people till they say: 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah'.  And if they say so, pray like our prayers, face our Qibla and slaughter as we slaughter, then their blood and property will be sacred to us and we will not interfere with them except legally."

Muslim (1:30) - "The Messenger of Allah said: I have been commanded to fight against people so long as they do not declare that there is no god but Allah."

Muslim (1:149) - "Abu Dharr reported: I said: Messenger of Allah, which of the deeds is the best? He (the Holy Prophet) replied: Belief in Allah and Jihad in His cause, "

Muslim (20:4645) - ", He (the Messenger of Allah) did that and said: There is another act which elevates the position of a man in Paradise to a grade one hundred (higher), and the elevation between one grade and the other is equal to the height of the heaven from the earth. He (Abu Sa'id) said: What is that act? He replied: Jihad in the way of Allah! Jihad in the way of Allah!"

Muslim (20:4696) - "the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: 'One who died but did not fight in the way of Allah nor did he express any desire (or determination) for Jihid died the death of a hypocrite.'"

Muslim (19:4321-4323) - Three separate hadith in which Muhammad shrugs over the news that innocent children were killed in a raid by his men against unbelievers.  His response: "They are of them (meaning the enemy)."

Muslim (19:4294) - "When the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) appointed anyone as leader of an army or detachment he would especially exhort him,  He would say: Fight in the name of Allah and in the way of Allah. Fight against those who disbelieve in Allah. Make a holy war,   When you meet your enemies who are polytheists, invite them to three courses of action. If they respond to any one of these, you also accept it and withhold yourself from doing them any harm. Invite them to (accept) Islam; if they respond to you, accept it from them and desist from fighting against them,  If they refuse to accept Islam, demand from them the Jizya. If they agree to pay, accept it from them and hold off your hands. If they refuse to pay the tax, seek Allah's help and fight them.

Tabari 7:97 The morning after the murder of Ashraf, the Prophet declared, "Kill any Jew who falls under your power."  Ashraf was a poet, killed by Muhammad's men because he insulted Islam.  Here, Muhammad widens the scope of his orders to kill.  An innocent Jewish businessman was then slain by his Muslim partner, merely for being non-Muslim.

Tabari 9:69 "Killing Unbelievers is a small matter to us"  The words of Muhammad, prophet of Islam.

Tabari 17:187 "'By God, our religion (din) from which we have departed is better and more correct than that which these people follow. Their religion does not stop them from shedding blood, terrifying the roads, and seizing properties.' And they returned to their former religion."  The words of a group of Christians who had converted to Islam, but realized their error after being shocked by the violence and looting committed in the name of Allah.  The price of their decision to return to a religion of peace was that the men were beheaded and the woman and children enslaved by the caliph Ali.

Ibn Ishaq/Hisham 327: - “Allah said, ‘A prophet must slaughter before collecting captives. A slaughtered enemy is driven from the land. Muhammad, you craved the desires of this world, its goods and the ransom captives would bring. But Allah desires killing them to manifest the religion.’”

Ibn Ishaq/Hisham 990: - Lest anyone think that cutting off someone's head while screaming 'Allah Akbar!' is a modern creation, here is an account of that very practice under Muhammad, who seems to approve.

Ibn Ishaq/Hisham 992: - "Fight everyone in the way of Allah and kill those who disbelieve in Allah."  Muhammad's instructions to his men prior to a military raid.

sensible muslims should ask such questions, he should also ask why the holy prophet mohd didnt preach islam but forced it and in the process killed some peole ine the process (correct me if i am wrong please).

that is not true.that is a fallacy that the ill-intended seeks to tarnish the repuation of islam with and score cheap points that are baseless.

do you know that the Prophet (sa) did not wake up one morning, and thought of converting others so he decided to kill them if they refuse his imposition as you saw it?

do you know that he abhorred the culture of death that existed among his people, their feudal lifestyle, barbaric ways and very brutal conflicts they engage among themselves?

do you know that the muslims were continuosly subjected to hardship and oppression and they did not fight because they were not permitted to do so?

have you ever read these verses in the Holy Quran?:

Holy Quran 22:39-40
Permission to take up arms is hereby given to those who are attacked because they have been oppressed – Allah indeed has power to grant them victory – those who have been unjustly driven from their homes, only because they said: 'Our Lord is Allah

lagosshina nice write ups but honestly i am not conviced. lemme try and tell u the meaning of some of the quotations u made from the bible. Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword." in christianity many atimes the word of word is represented as a sword used to fight d devil. have u ever heard of the full gospel armour in christianity? the sword wasnt actually a literal sword but the word of god. a prophet in the bible said your word is SHARPER THAN TWO EDGED SWORD. See my dear frend, in christianity in many instances the bible is refered to as THE SWORD. SO FINNALY JESUS SAID HE HADNT COME TO BRING PEACE BUT TO PROCLAIM THE WORD OF GOD.

"But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me. I have said this b4 read the entire story of the parable been told then you wld know that the quoted verse was a king judgement on his wicked servents that wanted him removed not jesus asking christians to kill.
"I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled. well, read verse 50 it says i have a BAPTIZM to recieve and how distressed i am till is over. the FIRE jesus christ was refering to means the HOLY SPIRIT. also u wold notice that on the day of penetecost that tongues of FIRE appeared on the heads of doz present. so u see my frend most instances in the bible FIRE represented the holy spirit.
[Jesus] made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple area, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. this was story of wen jesus went into the temple and saw money changers and thieves in the temple so in annoyance that gods temple had being turned into a market place the lashed out at them. please note that during dis confrontation made by jesus no one was killed or even hurt in the process. read what christ said in verse in verse 16, take them out of hia and stop making my fathers house a market place, the literal meaning of other verses wld b explained to you in subsiquent posts. and frosbel my good friend i think derz a way to speak ur mind without being insultive and making provoking statements about peoples religious veiws.

All the books are written by GJO Moshay.

I have read countless articles and books on ISLAM but this one I finished today , Anatomy of the Quran is a master piece.

There is another one I want to buy today , was recommended by the author and titled "The Islamic Invasion by Rob Morey ", I hear Muslims who read these books just abandon ISLAM, altogether.

These are some reviews of the book :

This book truly unpacks the MAJOR flaws in Islamic faith. I would suspect that any TRUE Open-Hearted truth-seeking Muslim would give serious second thought to their faith, once they get through the first 50 pages. The references are a mix of Western and Middle Eastern, ,  but believe it or not, the most devastating evidence in this book comes from well known and respected Middle-Eastern Muslim scholars.
The author presents an accurate account of Islam (Middle-Eastern) vs. the "Black Muslims" or Nation of Islam (Farrakhan's cult) and how the true Muslims regard the Black race as damned. (If I were black, I'd think twice about saying I'm a Muslim, Malcolm X was very noble in this regard and should never be forgotten!)

I gave the book a 4 out of 5 because I would have preferred a more gentle demeanor (for Muslim readers). Nobody likes the truth rammed down their throat and I think there is a bit of harshness in the tone of the writer.

Robert Morey should be applauded for having the nerve to tell the truth about the cult of the Moon God (Islam) and its roots. Westerners would be well advised to read this demistifying of the Islamic creed rather than assume that because it comes from somewhere else then it is somehow more magical.
As usual the other reviews of this text say "oh but the Christian bible says this" and then attempt to offer evidence from the Old Testament. There are two points that need to be made here. Firstly Dr Morey makes it clear on several occasions that he is attempting to review the self-contradiction of the Quran (not the Bible!) and offers countless other sources of supporting information many from Muslim scholars. Secondly, that the term "Christian Bible" is used so often by other reviewers when quoting the Old Testament shows a fundamental lack of understanding of the topic. Any review of the Christian faith requires the New Testament and the teachings of Jesus (the Christ - hence the name) to be complete. Christianity does not claim the works of the Old Testament as exclusively it's own as they are shared with the Jewish faith. Consequently those who may think they are "having a go" at Christianity are more properly attacking Judaism.
For those interested in learning the truth about Islam this is an invaluable starting text and a highly readable book. I would recommend that those reviewers who seem to want to defend Islam stick to trying to defend it. Attacking other religions does not lessen the validity of the evidence presented.

Once I finish this one, I will read the others you recommended.

I normally buy them on Kindle since they are far cheaper than purchasing a hard copy.

Our sole purpose is not just for reading sake, but to join the battle for the lost souls of our Muslims brothers.

Thanks,

i dont need your explanations.those verses were presented to keep frosbel shut.i have heard many explanations from christians all aimed at concealing the explicit meanings of those verses.

and you can interprete those terror verses in the bible as you please.but one thing remains intact never to be changed:a sword can never be a candy.a sword is an instrument of war and a tool for killing and causing destruction.if you say your bible is the sword, then that is a very weak sword that is defeated and cannot harm or kill anyone.it is a useless sword.

in the case of the verse in question about sword, the sword there is a literal word.we are told in the bible that Jesus asked his disciples to buy swords.and even if they have no money they should sell their belongings and even their clothes and buy swords.did they not buy?ofcourse they did.the rest is history.he was overpowered by roman soldiers and Peter struck someone with his sword and he saved his few and poorly prepared followers from massacre by replacing the ear of the man Peter struck.

that is a very violent parable.isn't it?what was the moral of the story or the intended message he was passing across?

"I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled. well, read verse 50 it says i have a BAPTIZM to recieve and how distressed i am till is over. the FIRE jesus christ was refering to means the HOLY SPIRIT. also u wold notice that on the day of penetecost that tongues of FIRE appeared on the heads of doz present. so u see my frend most instances in the bible FIRE represented the holy spirit.
in the dictionary of christians "fire" is holy spirit!  grin so i guess the holy spirit christians believe in is a dragon spitting fire!!!

a very violent spirit indeed!!!

[Jesus] made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple area, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. this was story of wen jesus went into the temple and saw money changers and thieves in the temple so in annoyance that gods temple had being turned into a market place the lashed out at them. please note that during dis confrontation made by jesus no one was killed or even hurt in the process. read what christ said in verse in verse 16, take them out of hia and stop making my fathers house a market place, the literal meaning of other verses wld b explained to you in subsiquent posts. and frosbel my good friend i think derz a way to speak ur mind without being insultive and making provoking statements about peoples religious veiws.

did i read right?you said Jesus was annoyed? how can a "lamb" and "prince of peace" be annoyed?  grin do you know what a lamb is? can a lamb attack you and over turn tables and scatter your market?

frosbel is living a useless life.debating is one thing when you are trying to pass a message across sincerely to expose the truth.and provocation in the guise of debate is another thing when you know the truth and you are insulting and finding trouble of others.

frosbel:

So how was it spread, by sending Teddy bears as gifts and sweets with which to entice your enemies, right  grin grin grin

Funny, Islam spread through preaching as evidenced by the letters sent to prominent leaders by Prophet Muhammad (SAW), trade (Muslim traders were known for their honesty and accountability), cultural influences (people grew-up around Muslims and embraced the religion) and like any other superior concept, leadership of countries/nations,

Did Muslims fight battles? Yes! If they didn't they would have been wiped-out by the Byzantines, Persians, Romans and latter-on the Crusaders of Western Europe, Colonial Powers in the 18th and 19th Century and so on.

Strategic victories for Muslim armies ensured that Islam would survive and thrive as it is doing in Western Europe in particular at the moment. That is why Frosbel is quaking in his boots 'shiver your timbers' well, because you can't stop the spread of Islam.
