Beauty queens are not just young ladies. These days, kids can now be crowned beauty queens.

And recently in faraway Turkey, our Nigerian little girl, Wendy Kasumu, was crowned Little Miss World Model 2007 as she beat 36 other kids from all around the globe to clinch the crown.

Mrs. Frances Oho, National Director of the Little Miss World in Nigeria says Wendy Kasumu was at her best form during her talent display, cat walking and was greeted with a standing ovation for her outstanding performance by the over a thousand audience at the amphitheatre.

President of Little Miss World, Natalya Kovalyova, presented sashes, exclusive golden crowns and other irresistible gifts to Wendy and other winners. Reputable International modelling agencies are already wooing Wendy Kasumu, for contracts abroad, In Vogue gathered.

The 8yr-old, primary four pupils of Taurean Private School, Surulere and reigning Nigerian Little Charming Princess, 2007 says she is happy, delighted and proud to have represented Nigeria. And grateful to the organisers for the exposure, and hoping that government and corporate bodies would come to their aid to afford a lot more kids the same opportunity.

Her hobbies include chatting and making new friends. According to young queen, her greatest God-given asset is her parents who she lives with in Surulere.

The story of Wendy’s rise to the top began two years ago when she joined the Nigerian Kiddies Modelling Club. While in NKMC, she was introduced to the fundamentals of modelling and cat walking where her interest lies. And had the opportunity to partake in the 2nd edition of the Nigerian Kiddies Fashion Show in March 2007. It was her overwhelming performance at the NKFS that made her parents enroll her as a member of Charming Kids Organization in May 2007.
