Please praise the lord for me, after 11 hours of labor, I welcomed my baby girl into the world, it was hard and painful, but the result was well worth it

Contractions started @ 1 am 1st April, it was 5 minutes apart and at first I wanted to take it for granted, kept me up all night, I actually thought it was braxton hicks! @ 7 am, I played a prank on everyone in my house saying the pain was closer apart, cos it ws april fools day! @ 1 pm,I decided to go to the hospital to have myself checked thinking I'd be home in 1 hour! For where, I was checked and told I was already 2cm dilated! The pain was still endurable then! @ 3pm, my membranes were ruptured and that wass when it started, the pain was just too much! I just wanted water poured on me each time the contractioins came! I was throwinng up like nothing else! @ 440 pm, I felt the uncontrollable urge to push and boy, was it painful, five pushes later, @ 504pm, I met the cutest most adorable baby of all, my daughter!

She should not be having severe pain in the spine area and pains in her joints. seek medical help immediately. the swellings should not be happening also for now. She should increase her water intake, at least 2.5l daily,try keeping her feet up, and dont sit for a long time.she should move around. The tiredness comes with pregnant. She should rest more often.
meanwhile, let her register for antenatal.she should make sure her b.p and early morning urine should be checked during each visit. also when she's in her third trimester, around 28-30 weeks, she is going to be tested for gestational diabetes.

Thanks she no longer complains of the back pain.She has an AP on thursday as she will start it on that day.But she only feels pains in form of contractions on her tummy.That has been on since friday.She is feeling better though.

She has started the pillow therapy and a sister in her church has asked her to start using pregnancy care.I do not how good that is but she claims it helps.

Hi House, I must commend the good works being done here.
However, I am a newly wed, got married in October and by the end of November, i found out I was 3 weeks pregnant.But by mid february, it was discovered that there was no heartbeat( was supposed to be 14 weeks then but the scan result showed 12weeks) so I had to go thru induced labour followed by an evacuation procedure.However, I bleeded for 2 weeks and some days then went for a repeat scan exactly a month after which came out fine(everything is ok with my womb).I had symtomps of my period on the 19th march and started my period on the 20th March which ended on the 27th.I then noticed slight bleeding on the 30th of March which is still on till today(3rd April).I called my Doc to tell him of my observation, he said the slight bleeding is normal as a result of the evacuation, that my system istrying to flush out the leftover.My QUESTION NOW IS, IS THIS NORMAL ANDWHEN SHOULD I EXPECT TO OVULATE.Before my pregnancy in November, my cycle ranges between 25 to 26days but I dont know of now.

Looking forward to a response ASAP.

SOrry for your loss, In regards to teh bleeding it seems normal to me but im not a doctor, now do you have any pains in your womb, or any abnormal odours. Sorry tmi. I am just trying to rule out infection. But IMO all is well. Your period can return right away afer an d&c so your period returning is normal. You are also most fertile the first 3 months after you have a d&c so the chances of cnceiving again are high.

After a d&c it is normal to have "abnormal bleeding" for up to six weeks or even longer, so IMO everything is fine, dont worry or stress.

My wife just learnt she is pregnant.
She has high blood pressure and is on blood pressure meds.

@GB congrats and thanks for joining us. OK high BP in pergnancy is scary it has many indications for both mom and baby, i developed high BP which progressed to pre eclamsia in my pregnancy with my son. It is good that your wife is on medication, i took lebetalol, i am not sure if its available in Nigeria.

1.) Where are you located, because with high bp both mom and baby need to be monitored very closely. I only know of places in Port Harcourt, that can monitor high risk pregnancies.
2.) She will need frequent scans, depending on the bp numbers can be 1-2 times a week.
3.) She should start antenatal ASAP. Make sure to get lots of rest as it helps to reduce the blood pressure, sleep on the left hand side it is also suppose to help.
4.) You can even buy her a bp monitor so you know when its a bit high i used to take my bp 2 times daily, the machine should cost about naira 8000
5.) I would also try to get in touch with a high risk OBGYN that is fully aware on how to treat high bp in pregnancy and the implications

All in all g-d is faithful and he will see your family through

I registered and started my antenatal class on monday and was told my BP is quite low, so i have to increase my intake of water and salt. and pls whats the side effect of doing numerous ultrasounds while pregnant.
