Paul’s illogicality cannot be the word of “the only wise God.”

There is no one in the bible as illogical as Paul. He claims he preached the gospel: “not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect.” (1 Corinthians 1:17). Nevertheless, Luke says: “(Paul) reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath.” (Acts 18:4). Paul’s “reasoning” is often incoherent and contradictory. To accept some of the things he says, one has to take leave of one’s senses.

Contradictions galore

Paul maintains salvation is not contingent upon our works, but is “by grace through faith” in Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 2:8-9). Then he puts his foot in his mouth by saying to the Galatians: “You who attempt to be justified by law have fallen from grace.” (Galatians 5:4). But if grace is unmerited favour, then a man cannot fall from it. If the favour is unmerited, it cannot be lost by demerits. Paul says we were “bought at a price,” ostensibly by Christ. (1 Corinthians 6:20). But only slaves are bought; sons are not bought but birthed. Then he says we are forgiven. (Colossians 2:13). But if we are forgiven, nobody needs to pay for us; and if we are paid for, then we don’t need to be forgiven.

Paul says: “there is none righteous, no not one.” (Romans 3:10). He then boxes himself into a corner by saying: “the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God.” (1 Corinthians 6:9). But if there is none righteous and only the righteous will inherit, where then will God find the righteous who will inherit his kingdom? Paul just cannot think straight. His defective logic about the non-existence of the righteous does not even recognise “Jesus Christ the righteous.” (1 John 2:1). Compare Paul’s irreverent generalization to Jesus’ recognition of God’s exceptionality. Jesus says: “No one is good but One, that is, God.” (Matthew 19:17).

In 1 Corinthians 2:14, Paul sets a trap for himself and falls into it. He says: “The natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” Then he says: “However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural, and afterward the spiritual.” (1 Cor 15:46). But if the natural is first, how can the natural then become spiritual when, according to Paul’s ingenuity, the natural man cannot receive the things of the Spirit of God? Thereby, Paul nullifies his own doctrine and shows it to be idiotic.

Convoluted logic

Paul tries to compare the coming of the New Testament with the second marriage of a widow. But he muddles everything up; casting serious doubts on his alleged Pharisee training. He says: “The woman who has a husband is bound by the law to her husband as long as he lives. But if the husband dies, she is released from the law of her husband. .. Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you may be married to another- to Him who was raised from the dead.” (Romans 7:2/4). But a widow does not die because her husband dies. A dead wife does not remarry. In actual fact, it is Christ, the “new husband,” who died. The law, the “old husband,” is still alive.

Quoting Epidemedes, Paul says: “One of them, a prophet of their own, said, ‘Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.’” Surprisingly, Paul agrees with this, saying: “This testimony is true.” (Titus 1:12-13). But if Cretans are always liars, this statement by one of them must also be false. Thereby, Paul trips on his own shoe-laces once again.

Double-mindedness

Paul comes up with this lofty principle: “Whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.” (Galatians 6:7-cool. However, he then nullifies it by insisting those who sow to the spirit should reap in the flesh. He says: “If we have sown spiritual things for you, is it a great thing if we reap your material things?” (1 Corinthians 9:11). This is the hypocritical theology of the money-minded con-man which has so many adherents in the pastors of today.

Paul says: “The doers of the law shall be justified.” (Romans 2:13). Then he contradicts himself in the same breath: “By the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified.” (Romans 3:20). He says to the Galatians: “Bear one another’s burdens.” (Galatians 6:2). Then he says: “Each one shall bear his own load.” (Galatians 6:5). If each man shall bear his own load, how can we then bear one another’s burdens? Paul says: “All who have sinned without the law will also perish without the law.” (Romans 2:12). Then he contradicts himself by saying: “where there is no law, there is no transgression.” (Romans 4:15). If, as he says, no law means no sin; how then can he also say no law means sin leading to condemnation?

Listen to Paul in his own self-implicating words. He says to the Thessalonians: “Our exhortation was not of deceit, nor of uncleanness, NOR IN GUILE.” (1 Thessalonians 2:3). Then he says to the Corinthians: “I did not burden you: nevertheless, being crafty, I caught you WITH GUILE.” (2 Corinthians 12:16). In short, by his own account, Paul is not deceptive and he also is. Which of these is the infallible word of Paul? Certainly, such illogicality cannot be the word of “the only wise God.” (Romans 16:27).

Nonsensical Christology

Lagos drivers are terrible. We drive with scant regard for traffic laws. We drive on the pavements and on the wrong sides of the road. We beat red lights, violate one-way traffic signs, and park in no-parking zones.

But one day, a man called Jesus came to Lagos. He was a perfect driver and he obeyed scrupulously all the traffic laws. In recognition for his fastidiousness, the Lagos State Government repealed all traffic laws on the grounds that Jesus had fulfilled them. Any man who believes in Jesus is then deemed to have also obeyed all the laws. Nevertheless, the government sent Jesus himself to the firing squad for violating traffic laws, even though in actual fact he had obeyed them all.

This is a parody of Paul’s Christology. Why should Christians believe such arrant nonsense?

With the repeal of all traffic laws because of Jesus’ perfect obedience, would Lagos drivers automatically become “new creatures” on the roads? No! What if Paul maintains: “there is now no condemnation for Lagos drivers?” (Romans 8:1). Would that improve the situation? Not likely! What if Paul declares: “There is no good driver, no, not one.” (Romans 3:10). Would that make the difference? Certainly not! What if Paul tells Lagos drivers all things are lawful on the roads, but they should avoid things that are not expedient? (1 Corinthians 6:12). Would they therefore drive with circumspection? Definitely not! What if Paul reassures Lagosians the Chief Judge of the state now “justifies ungodly drivers?” (Romans 4:5). Would that make them good drivers? Absolutely not!

And yet, that is the foolishness and ludicrousness of Pauline Christianity.

@Ijawkid, Well Let me believe I don't properly understand English Language like you have claim but you are already confusing and contraditing yourself by accepting that there was a wrong transcript of this facts and again that I am the one who don't understand what it menat, worst still complicating issues by saying you will be back to delibrate, A man who understand an ideology don't delibrate on it with somebody he thinks don't understand, he explains. I think you are still amongst many who have just crossed their minds that everything in the bible is 100% correct and there can't be any mistakes or contraditions or worst still, the bible is the art of God and a mistery like the universe and the various forces and creation itself. I am a Christian and I know that I took a decision to serve God through the Faith of Jesus Christ, not some others people's theory in the bible including Paul and many alike up to this day.

■Paul’s illogicality cannot be the word of “the only wise God.” There is no one in the bible as illogical as Paul. He claims he preached the gospel: “not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect.” (1 Corinthians 1:17). Nevertheless, Luke says: “(Paul) reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath.” (Acts 18:4).
■ Paul’s “reasoning” is often incoherent and contradictory. To accept some of the things he says, one has to take leave of one’s senses.
It is instead my experience that the majority of those who quote the person of Paul don't even comprehend him let alone comprehend his views. Let's for example compare Paul's actual words to th claims made against Him by Aribasala here.

▢ Aribasala claims that Paul said he preached the gospel without the wisdom of words which I take to mean that Aribasala believes Paul insisted that never reasoned the Truth of God for himself.
11 My brothers and sisters, some members of Chloe’s family told me that there are arguments among you.
12 This is what I mean: One of you says, “I follow Paul,” and someone else says, “I follow Apollos.” Another says, “I follow Peter,” and someone else says, “I follow Christ.”
[b]13
Christ cannot be divided into different groups. It wasn’t Paul who died on the cross for you, was it? Were you baptized in Paul’s name?
14 I am thankful that I did not baptize any of you except Crispus and Gaius.
15 I am thankful because now no one can say that you were baptized in my name.
16 (I also baptized the family of Stephanas, but I don’t remember that I myself baptized any others.)
17 Christ did not give me the work of baptizing people. He gave me the work of telling the Good News. But he sent me to tell the Good News without using clever speech, which would take away the power that is in the cross of Christ. - 1 Corinthians 1 vs 11 - 17
...
▢ Here Aribasala claims that Paul prevaricated, when in fact, what Luke wrote does not in any way cast a bad light on what Paul said in the passage above.
1 Later, Paul left Athens and went to the city of Corinth.
2 There he met a Jewish man named Aquila, who was born in the country of Pontus. But he and his wife, Priscilla, had recently moved to Corinth from Italy. They left Italy because Claudius had given an order for all Jews to leave Rome. Paul went to visit Aquila and Priscilla.
3 They were tentmakers, the same as Paul, so he stayed with them and worked with them.
4 Every Sabbath day Paul went to the synagogue and talked with both Jews and Greeks, trying to persuade them to believe in Jesus. - Acts 18 vs 1 - 4

2. I wholly disagree with this assertion. Paul is quite coherent even when he is in error. The problem is that people don't comprehend his opinions or at least understand where he is coming from. undecided

▢ Paul maintains salvation is not contingent upon our works, but is “by grace through faith” in Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 2:8-9). ▢ Then he puts his foot in his mouth by saying to the Galatians: “You who attempt to be justified by law have fallen from grace.” (Galatians 5:4).
▢ But if grace is unmerited favour, then a man cannot fall from it. If the favour is unmerited, it cannot be lost by demerits.
▢ Paul says we were “bought at a price,” ostensibly by Christ. (1 Corinthians 6:20). But only slaves are bought; sons are not bought but birthed.
▢ Then he says we are forgiven. (Colossians 2:13). But if we are forgiven, nobody needs to pay for us; and if we are paid for, then we don’t need to be forgiven.
1. I am afraid yet again, Aribasala confuses his own confusion with that of Paul's. Arisabala seems unaware that he violates context in his attempts to cast all of these statements as though reference to the same issues.

▢ In Ephesians 2 vs 1 - 9, Paul clearly speaks in reference to Salvation from the condemnation of Sin aka Death which Jesus Christ addressed in John 3 vs 1 - 21. Clearly, We are gifted God's grace(Eternal Life) as grace from the curse of Death we were previously condemned to as sinners of Old. And we are only able to obtain that Eternal Life(grace) through faith — submission and obedience to Jesus Christ's teachings requiring we be born-again(born of water and of Spirit). Here, the confusion is clearly Aribasala's and not Paul's. undecided

▢ In Galatian 5, beginning from verse 1 through verse 15, Paul makes clear that his tirade is addressed to those who, after abandoning the Old Law of Moses when they became born-again, would go back to practicing, yet again, that which pertained to the Old Law of Moses. And this makes sense because Jesus Christ is a different and separate covenant from the Old Law of Moses and those who belong in the New Law of Moses are to steer clear of practicing that which pertains to the Old Law. Jesus Christ vehemently warned His followers of catastrophic outcomes should they attempt to mix Old wine and New Wine. So, here again, we find that the confused one here is clearly Aribasala and not Paul. undecided

▢ Very wrong assertion from Aribasala here. Eternal Life aka grace is gifted to all sinners who become born-again and enter into the Kingdom of God as a result. However, not all those who enter into the Kingdom of God will enter into Heaven(eternal reward at the end). Many, as Jesus Christ made clear, will end up spending that grace in the place of eternal damnation because they failed to use that grace given to them wisely. So, again, the confused one here is Aribasala and not Paul. undecided

▢ I am not really crazy about Paul's views expressed in 1 Corinthians 6 so let me use the Words of Jesus Christ here instead to respond to Aribasala's comment about us being slaves. undecided
31 So Jesus said to the Jews who believed in him, “If you continue to accept and obey my teaching, you are really my followers.
32 You will know the truth and the truth will make you free.”
33 They answered, “We are Abraham’s descendants. And we have never been slaves. So why do you say that we will be free?”
34 Jesus said, “The truth is, everyone who sins is a slave—a slave to sin.
35 A slave does not stay with a family forever. But a son belongs to the family forever.
36 So if the Son makes you free, you are really free.
37 I know you are Abraham’s descendants. But you want to kill me because you don’t want to accept my teaching.
38 I am telling you what my Father has shown me. But you do what your father has told you.” - John 8 vs 31 - 38
Yes, we were slaves to sin, and yes, God by way of Jesus Christ created a path to draw us — ex-convicts from His Old Law of Moses, slaves of sin — back to Himself in His New Law. Here again, we find that Aribasala failed to understand Paul due to a lack of knowledge of Jesus Christ. undecided

▢ Paul did not say you are forgiven, rather, addressing instead those who have in fact been forgiven — those who have been living their lives continuously in submission and obedience to the teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ -those who in fact belong to Jesus Christ - Colossians 2 vs 6 - 10. Jesus Christ said those who love Him, those who belong to Him are those who obey His teachings and commandments. John 8 vs 31 - 38 above points out that they are those who are then forgiven by Him — set free from slavery to sin by the Son — Truth Himself. Aribasala again projects his confusion on Paul. undecided

■ Paul says: “there is none righteous, no not one.” (Romans 3:10). He then boxes himself into a corner by saying: “the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God.” (1 Corinthians 6:9). But if there is none righteous and only the righteous will inherit, where then will God find the righteous who will inherit his kingdom?
■ Paul just cannot think straight.
1. I am afraid Aribasala is guilty of dumping his ignorance on Paul, yet again! For some odd reason, Aribasala does not respect contextual integrity when reading through Paul's letter, the very same mistake those who worship the man Paul equally make. undecided

In Romans 3 vs 10 - 18 Paul quotes from various parts of scripture in his attempt to explain to his brethren that they were in fact the wicked and evil generation to the destroyed by God. Yes, at that point in time, God's plan was to destroy the rest of Israel — the Nation of Judah aka the Jews— and that plan was heralded by the coming of Jesus Christ. Below, we see that what Paul wrote in that passage was of the evil people who were against God.

Romans 3 vs 10 - 12 quotes Psalm 53 where David writes about the evil people who do terrible things.
1 Only fools think there is no God. People like that are evil and do terrible things. They never do what is right.
2 God looks down from heaven to see if there is anyone who is wise, anyone who looks to him for help.
3 But everyone has turned away from him. Everyone has become evil. No one does anything good. No, not one person!
4 Those who are evil treat my people like bread to be eaten. And they never ask for God’s help. Don’t they understand what they are doing? - Psalm 53 vs 1 - 3
The above passage clearly says that this prophecy was said of the evil people aka the fools who convinced themselves that God does not exist. You know this from reading verse 4 where God highlights the way evil people treat His people. undecided
Romans 3 vs 13 a Paul references David's prayer against his enemies found in Psalm 5
8 Lord, show me your right way of living and make it easy for me to follow. People are looking for my weaknesses, so show me how you want me to live.
9 My enemies never tell the truth. They only want to destroy people. Their words come from mouths that are like open graves. They use their lying tongues to deceive others.[a]
10 Punish them, God! Let them be caught in their own traps. They have turned against you, so punish them for their many crimes. - Psalm 5 vs 8 - 10
Romans 3 vs 13 b quotes from Psalm 140 where David prays to God regarding the evil people
1 Lord, save me from people who are evil. Protect me from those who are cruel,
2 from those who plan to do evil and always cause trouble.
3 Their words are as harmful as the fangs of a snake, as deadly as its venom. Selah
4 Lord, save me from the wicked! Protect me from these cruel people who plan to hurt me.
5 These proud people are trying to trap me. They spread nets to catch me; they set traps in my path. Selah - Psalm 140 vs 1 - 5
Romans 3 vs 15 quotes from Proverbs 1 which is a warning against evil people
10 My son, those who love to do wrong will try to trick you. Don’t listen to them.
11 They will say, “Come with us. Let’s hide and beat to death anyone who happens to walk by.
12 We will swallow them whole, as the grave swallows the dying.
13 We will take everything they have and fill our houses with stolen goods.
14 So join us, and you can share everything we get.”
15 My son, don’t follow them. Don’t even take the first step along that path.
16 They run to do something evil, and they cannot wait to kill someone. - Proverbs 1 vs 10 - 15
Romans 3 vs 16 - 17 references Isaiah's writing on the state of the evil people, whose sins separate them from God
1 Look, the Lord’s power is enough to save you. He can hear you when you ask him for help.
2 It is your sins that separate you from your God. He turns away from you when he sees them.
3 That’s because your hands are covered with blood from the people you murdered. You tell lies and say evil things.
4 You can’t be trusted, even in court. You lie about each other and depend on false arguments to win your cases. You create pain and produce wickedness.
5 You hatch evil, like eggs from a poisonous snake. Anyone who eats the eggs will die. And if you break one of them open, a poisonous snake will come out. Your lies are like spider webs.
6 They cannot be used for clothes, and you cannot cover yourself with them. Your hands are always busy sinning and hurting others.
7 Your feet run toward evil. You are always ready to kill innocent people. You think of nothing but evil. Everywhere you go you cause trouble and ruin.
8 You don’t know how to live in peace. You don’t do what is right and fair. You are crooked, and anyone who lives like that will never know true peace. - Isaiah 59 vs 1 - 8
Romans 3 vs 18 references Psalm 18 where David writes of the evil people and the workings of their minds.
1 Deep in the hearts of the wicked a voice tells them to do wrong. They have no respect for God.
2 They lie to themselves. They don’t see their own faults, so they are not sorry for what they do.
3 Their words are wicked lies. They have stopped doing anything wise or good.
4 They make wicked plans in bed at night. They choose a way of life that does no good. And they never say no to anything evil. - Psalm 36 vs 1 - 4

As you can see, every single passage of Scripture that was quoted by Paul in that context was written in reference to people who do evil — the unrighteous. And of course, there are none righteous among the evil people for they have all sinned. After establishing his focus in the earlier verses, the evil people i.e. the unrighteous, in verses 19-20 Paul reiterates that the curse on the unrighteous cannot be removed right by the Law(of Moses) — they cannot be made righteous by following the Old Law.

In verse 21, Paul then posits that God has provided for the unrighteous(evil people) a path to redemption by which they can be made righteous and that path is the New Law(The Good News). Paul insists that God makes the unrighteous people righteous through their faith in Jesus Christ and He does so for all those who believe in Jesus Christ, verse 22. Again, Paul insists in verse 23 that all(the evil people aka unrighteous) have sinned and come short of the glory of God and can only be made righteous by following, not the old Law, but the new Law which offers the free gift of grace(Eternal Life). Paul also insists that the unrighteous are able to become righteous in God by becoming free from their sins through Jesus Christ. In verses 25-26, Paul then recapped by saying that God gave Jesus Christ a way to forgive the sins of people — the unrighteous aka sinners whom He came to call to repentance — by way of what Paul refers to as the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

In all, the primary audience or focus of Paul's writing in Roman 3 were the unrighteous sinners in the land, ignoring the righteous people who equally existed at the time. As a matter of fact, at the time of Paul's writing of this epistle, the other disciples of Jesus Christ were probably righteous given they already obtained the Spirit of Truth for a companion long before this. Paul in no way meant this to say that there were absolutely no righteous individuals in the land. Rather, he focused his message on those who were listed as unrighteous and remained under God's curse from the Old Law, and yet to be set free from slavery to sin by Jesus Christ. undecided

2. To reveal that Aribasal's bias against Paul is truly what is at work here since the same Paul, in Romans 2 vs 1 - 16 revealed that righteousness was only obtainable through the doing of that which is the law — the teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ—, and not simply the hearing of the law. So far, it seems this man's case is of witch hunt and not real understanding. undecided

Romans 3 vs 13 b quotes from Psalm 140 where David prays to God regarding the evil people

Romans 3 vs 15 quotes from Proverbs 1 which is a warning against evil people

Romans 3 vs 16 - 17 references Isaiah's writing on the state of the evil people, whose sins separate them from God

Romans 3 vs 18 references Psalm 18 where David writes of the evil people and the workings of their minds.

Just so you know, I don't believe in Paul as rather I believe in Jesus Christ and His Truth exists above all claims made by men. Just letting you know that even though I have found no fault yet does not mean there is none to be found in Paul's letters as his letters do indeed contain some contradictory ideas to that decreed by Jesus Christ . undecided

You believe in Jesus means you believe in whatever he says. Jesus him self made reference to the prophets and to Peter.
Have you even actually read Paul's letters? Jesus said he would leave the comforter with us, the holy spirit.

If you look at the lives of Peter and Paul, he testified to the life of jesus

3. I don't know about that as I was called by Jesus Christ to be a follower of Jesus Christ-- not of Peter and Paul. I don't vouch for any man as I am instead called to teach the Truth of God. undecided

1)He did. Matthew 16:18 Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it.

2) Perfect Perfect The spirit of God never contradicts himself, I even explained this when you asked me before. So then why have you refused to believe those led by the spirit like our brother paul

3) Were you called by Moses? No but you believe his words, were you called by John the Baptist? No but you believe their words. Where has Peter and Paul ever said believe in us and you will be saved. Their every work and words makes reference and testimony to the words and works of jesus. For they Peter and paul also like Isaac, Moses, David, Isaiah, e.t.c were led by the spirit of God.

Go over the new testament one more time and ask the holy spirit to guide you. Ask him to reveal to you if they are for him or against him.

The love of God for us

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

When Adam sinned, he lost the direct access he initially had with God. (Genesis 3) God decided to send his only begotten son (Jesus) to pay the price for our sins on the cross of calvary because of his love for us. When Christ resurrected, he restored all privileges that we once had and brought redemption to us all. All we need is to believe that he died for our sin and has once again granted us direct access with God. No longer through an intermediary! (Mathew 27:50-53).

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

If our earthly parents care so much for us, how much more our father in heaven! (Luke 11:11-13). God’s love for us is infinite. He has promised to supply all our needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (Philipians 4:19).

Prayer of Salvation

Lord Jesus, I accept and acknowledge you as my personal lord and savior. I sincerely ask that you forgive my sins. Come into my life and pour out your spirit on me. By faith, I receive the promise of the father, which is the holy spirit. (John 14:16) I thank you for the price that you paid for me on the cross of calvary. Thank you for my redemption. I pray that your power, grace and favor will abide with me now and forever more. Amen.

1)He did. Matthew 16:18 Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it.
1. You actually imagine that Peter is a Rock as God Himself is?

Jesus Christ did refer to Peter as being the rock on which His Church He, Jesus Christ, Will build. undecided
15 Then Jesus said to his followers, “And who do you say I am?”
16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
17 Jesus answered, “You are blessed, Simon son of Jonah. No one taught you that. My Father in heaven showed you who I am.
18 So I tell you, you are Peter. And I will build my church on this rock. The power of death will not be able to defeat my church.
19 I will give you the keys to God’s kingdom. When you speak judgment here on earth, that judgment will be God’s judgment. When you promise forgiveness here on earth, that forgiveness will be God’s forgiveness.”
20 Then Jesus warned his followers not to tell anyone he was the Messiah. - Matthew 16 vs 15 - 20
Peter had, prior to Jesus Christ's response, indicated Him, Jesus Christ as the Messiah promised by God through His prophets, even Isaiah,...undecided
16. Because of these things, the Lord God says, “I will put a rock—a cornerstone—in the ground in Zion. This will be a very precious stone. Everything will be built on this very important rock. Anyone who trusts in that rock will not be disappointed. - Isaiah 28:16
Surely, you can understand from the above how Peter, the man, could not have been the rock God promised to put in the ground in Zion, the precious rock(Messiah) on which everything will be built? undecided

Peter who was born a Jew would have had no problem understanding why Jesus Christ said the words, "upon this rock, I will build my Church" since he was probably trained from his youth to understand that God's Law sits as the Rock/agreement/Contract, and the foundation upon which Israel is built, this by YHWH - Deuteronomy 32 vs 1 - 37. God's Old Covenant Law which was set up by God as the National Constitution of the nation of Israel in the Land of Israel was the constitution upon which God's promise was established/built in Israel, and each Israelite was required to live in submission and obedience to that rock till the end - 2 Samuel 22 vs 1 - 47. So, Peter would have had no difficulties understanding that Jesus Christ meant He was God's New agreement/Rock upon which the Church that belonged to Jesus Christ - the Kingdom of God - is established/built, the very embodiment of what is God's Law and Gospel. undecided
7 So, that stone brings honor for you who believe. But for those who don’t believe he is “the stone that the builders refused to accept, which became the most important stone.”
8 For them he is also “a stone that makes people stumble, a rock that makes people fall.” People stumble because they don’t obey what God says. This is what God planned to happen to those people.
9 But you are his chosen people, the King’s priests. You are a holy nation, people who belong to God. He chose you to tell about the wonderful things he has done. He brought you out of the darkness of sin into his wonderful light. - 1 Peter 2 vs 7 - 9
Peter wrote those words in his letter, not of Himself, but of Jesus Christ, the one who is the rock on which the Church of Jesus Christ is instead built upon. undecided
13 The Lord All-Powerful is the one you should fear. He is the one you should respect. He is the one who should frighten you.
14. If you people would respect him, he would be a safe place for you. But you don’t respect him, so he is like a stone that you stumble over. He is a rock that makes both families of Israel fall. He has become a trap that all the people of Jerusalem will fall into.
15. (Many people will trip over this rock. They will fall and be broken. They will be caught in the trap.) - Isaiah 8:14 - 15
And what Peter quoted is that stated by the Prophet Isaiah of the Lord, not of Peter. undecided

3. No, I believe only the Word of God, not the words of Moses, of which there were some recorded in the book of Exodus by the way. God is True and His Word — not the opinions and views of the men used by Him — is Truth, and as Jesus Christ Himself informed you, He is that Truth of God, the very Word out of God's own mouth. Grieving one led by the spirit of God is grieving the holy spirit. Saying the teachings of Paul are cursed is same as saying that the spirit of God leading him is cursed. Don't do that if the spirit of God leaves you you are lost
