It was a bleak Sunday for the congregation of former pop star turned cleric, Pastor Kris Okotie when he announced the break-up in his marriage of four years to his second wife, Stephanie. The bad news which enveloped the Household of God Church, Oregun, Lagos stunned members as they stood still and speechless for seconds after he dropped the bombshell shortly to the close of  Sunday service few hours ago. The Sunday service which coincided with the June’s brethren’s’ birthday celebration had recorded soul lifting songs and dances interspersed with fervent prayers, ministration and cutting of the cake. What can I say? I'd just advise christians to try and follow what the Bible teaches and not idolize aberrants. This is a passionate plea.

Luke 16:18 "Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery, and the man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

The separation is of God. He should go back and reconcile with his first wife. If I were him, I would be thanking God for saving me from hell fire, because the bible clearly says that adulterers can NEVER go to heaven.

These are the pastors who give Christianity a very bad name. He had a wife whom he had known from his days on campus, yet he allowed the devil to ruin his marriage and then he thought he could break the law of God and get away with it. God can never be mocked.

Does Kris Okotie think that guys like Benny Hinn that did all they could to save their marriage are stupid?
