Enugu, The Pride Of The East. by spyder880(m): 12:15pm On Jul 01, 2012
I love this state, and the towns that make up the state. I dont know if I will ever like to live anywhere else but Enugu, the way of life of the citizens of Enugu seems to be the best in the country.

Enugu people are very accomodating, hardworking and yet humble. We have everything here and yes, Enugu is working.

In this thread, I will try to change the perception of people about how bad or negative Nigeria is, lets start from where we are. I expect everyone to do something, lets stop the negativity for a while and focus on our positives. There are more good things in Nigeria than bad. You only need to look for it and see it.

I will flood this thread with so many pictures that people will complain, I have about 150 pictures loaded (more will be added this new week), I am ready to paste them here but I will post those in the evening, many towns were covered, many of our landmarks are here. The good, the moderately good and the terrible.

But let me just be posting and typing words for now, explaining some facts about Enugu.

. . the last 3/4 governors of the state have not been that bad.

And Enugu has benefited.

However, a lot more needs to be done.

spyder880: Enugu is a class society just like many cities. There is the rich man zone, the middle class zone, the poor people sections (shanties)

If you are very rich in Enugu, we expect you to live at Independence layout, or old GRA, please dont let us catch you in Obiagu or Abakpa cheesy what we have in this part of town are mainly large private compounds, well fed and healthy looking security men with fat dogs.

New Haven, Trans Ekulu are also for the rich, lower class rich.

The middle class are very comfortable in Achara layout, Uwani. They occupy those flats and self contains there.

The Ajegunle of Enugu is in Abakpa Nike, Obiagu is an urban jungle, Coal camp with their mud houses and neatly arranged streets done by the colonialists mining coal in the 1910-1920s.

We sabi ourselves, just fit into where you belong.
And you forgot Ogui! The heartbeat of the state. Thats where 60% of banks with branches in Enugu are located. More like the VI of Lagos.

The only thing that keeps enugu alive is the student/youth population, the state is filled with old civil servants with rickety vehicles. Enugu is usually boring whenever the students are on vacation. Owerri is the place to be men. . .

spyder880:

Owerri has nothing on Enugu, call places in Owerri that you can compare with Enugu. People come to have fun in Enugu, from Owerri and all other eastern cities. Does Owerri have a Shoprite outlet, Game?

Is there a villa de la Toscana in Owerri? grin

Abeg, na shoprite we go chop? The only places I usually enjoy in enugu is Toscana, 8 hours, afro lounge and a few others. apart from these, that place is boring, especially during december.

Oga e don do. Owerri cannot stand side by side in comparison with Enugu, in any way! I repeat, in any way!
Everything in Owerri has its match in Enugu times 2 and i'm being honest.
