How many times will I read about Nigerian boys undressing and abusing a female student as a form of punishment?

This is not right, this is not justified, this is rap e!!

Before it becomes a normality, we need to put an end to it! Nigerian girls do something before your rights are stripped from you.

Sexual harassment is intimidation, bullying or coercion of a sexual nature, or the unwelcome or inappropriate promise of rewards in exchange for sexual favors.

You need to learn the difference between sexual harassment vs herd mentality vs corporal punishment. It will do you a lot of good if you learnt how to read between the lines. Comprehension too.

MY sweet sweet Ileke Idi..

Nigerian girls need to stop putting themselves in situations that would get them humiliated.. Let me tell you now, the standard punishment for a woman/girl who steals or commits adultery is to be stripped N'aked.. While the punishment for guys is to be beaten to within an inch of his life..

Its not sexual harrassment but Mob mentality..

You should rather advocate for girls to stop doing these things that can get them humilaited..

P.S: Okija_Juju and its associates do not condone the act of jungle justice or degradation of any human being.. Anyone found to have engaged or incited such an act should be arrested and tried as that is a violation of the fundamental human rights of the victim, irrespective of their crime.. The law is the law and we should all abide by it..

IN OTHER NEWS

onila: nigerian men are as-sholes

If so, All Nigerian girls both home and abroad are Blackberry thieving, cheap, money and fame hungry, sluts... angry

Stop generalising Gaddammit!! angry

I'm not an advocate of jungle justice but people get what they bargain for especially in the backwaters of Nigeria where people worship illiteracy and backwardness. That lady knew what would happen to her if she got caught but she proceeded.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not acquitting the girl of her wrong doing. However, this jungle justice which has become prevalent amongst Nigerian university is alarming.

The more normal we see sexual harassment, the more likely it'll branch out to other parts of the NIgerian society. i.e Woman stealing pepper at the market.

By the time you know it, one jealous girl will say her boyfriend-snatcher stole her phone. By the time you realize it, your sister might become a victime of such horrendous crime.
Why not let the law serve out the punishment? The law does not give civilians the right to carry out sentence rulings on other civilians.

It's time we speak against it. This is no difference from gang ra pe.

You're right. But why we're speaking against sexual harassment, we should also preach against stealing. I think think preaching against stealing will go a long way in curbing sexual humiliation because if you don't steal, you don't get humiliated. It's as simple as rice and beans.

What's the difference in this case? Why try to sugarcoat sexual harasment?

she was stripped naked, abused, then photographed. . . . abused.

No sin is greater than the other. . . . but in this case, one has more weight than the other.
The law should deal with any crime committed. . . .how does abusing the female's body serves as a lawful punishment?

Imagine the emotional, physical and verbal torture she fought/still fighting.

That is someone's daughter, someone's sister, someone's granddaughter, someone's aunt, etc. . . .

AWWWWW!! My Ileke na real Ajebutta o!!!

Its not restricted to the Universities alone o!! HAAA!! Search google, you will see it at has happened at different times and places.. E.g; The Epkoma Lecturer that was stripped naked by a female student, e.t.c....... The truth is that it is an African mentality and not just Nigerian.. If a woman is caught stealing peppers in the market, she is done for.. There was the one video of a University girl (Atleast that was what it was labelled) that went into a boutique and stole some items and was caught.. She was stripped inside the shop, and one dude was using a bathroom slippers to spank her b'reasts, buttocks and v'agina.. What amazed me was that this was happening in the presence of about 3 elderly Yoruba women (Thats the language they were speaking to each other) and they were all laughing..

The number of Videos of this nature online are countless and they always involve women who either steal or are caught in bed with a married man or vice versa...

If a guy is caught stealing, he will be so badly beaten that he would most likely die of internal bleeding..

Its just the mob mentality..

This my dear, is standard practice..

I've seen the video of the boutique thief who wanted to wear para before her time. It's amazing that African women don't even make any attempt to stop this humiliation because they're part and parcel of the offensive team. SHAME.

The frequency of its occurrence does not and should not in anyway excuse it's unlawfulness.

Something needs to be done. Someone needs to bring men like these to the officials, they need to understand the degree of their crime.

I mean, am I the only one feeling the burn of it? Nigeria is fast becoming a savage society and nobody wants to care.

Its not about stealing, how many male criminals are stripped and humiliated in public? This is pure sexual harassment and perverseness, some less-human beings are using all sorts of excuses to UnCloth a female suspect just to take pictures or video clip of her naked body.

In a well-ordered society, the president, dean or any officials would have done something about it.

"an"

Dont forget that I am now an American, we are allowed to put "a" before a word starting with a vowel. grin

On a more serious note, since you arent as educated as I am, I dont mind teaching you one or two things as part of my corporate responsibility.

It is true that according to the rules “a” should come before words that begin with consonants (e.g., b, c ,d) while “an” should be before words that begin with vowels (e.g., a,e,i). Listen carefully now: the usage is determined by the pronunciation and not by the spelling, as many a retardeddd student wrongly assume. Dont be ashamed, I understand that English is not your first language, therefore, grammatically, you say “an hour” because hour begins with a vowel sound and “a history” because history begins with a consonant sound.

Similarly you could say “a intimate” even if intimate begins with a “i.” That is because the pronunciation sometimes , depending on the speaker and accent ( e.g NY accent), begins with “nt”, which is a consonant sound. So my friend from across the pond, a product of a failed education system, always follow your ear: if the word starts with a vowel sound, use AN. If it starts with a consonant sound, use A. Emphasis on sound. The English language is a very dynamic language which doesnt always lend itself well to rigid rules. grin

Most men that are caught in the act are not only stripped nakked but are usually set on fire by an angry mob.
