We are just too use to overlooking things and always abiding by the principles of" let bygones be bygones" forgive & forget, over a wrong that was done by some young spoilt rascal with the school as accomplice.
First let the culprits be tried and persecuted for thier wickedness and cold heartedness. Secondly, Dowen college should to be sued to court for attempting to cover up vital Information that could aid proper investigation. Then the decreased parent should sue Dowen college for negligence and recklessness toward a ward that was put in Thier care . Dowen college must pay for their reckless actions .

Then if they can come out of the storm intact , then they can change management with stiffer laws that comes with swift enforcement . Only change of management will not do anything .The school need to come up with a strong anti bully laws that will suspend any student that is found bullying another student in its first attempt & then exportion will be carried out against that child should that same kid repeat such actions again.
Parents must be told at inception of the school strong stance against bullying and the consequence of such actions.They must read it before signing .This must be included in the school terms and conditions before parents can enroll Thier wards in the school.
Secondly , staff must be sacked from thier duties, if any one fails to be vigilant and act swiftly against any bullying happening among students in the school . By the time few students and staff are made Scape goat, others will sit up and pocket Thier various demons. That is the only way bullying can stop.
When this has been done , then you can say parents should join hands to move Dowen college forward .

Truth be told, withdrawing students from the school or from other secondary schools for that matter wouldn't solve any problem. Let each school put policies in place that will help curb and even punish( severely if possible) bullying and bullies. State Governments should also make it a law.

The truth is not just reforming schools in Nigeria but reforming the country as a whole because bully is just like a norm in Nigeria and it comes in different form, places and sectors. all that is needed is to put a law in place anyone found guilty should be made to serve some jail sentence or something more severe. You didn't just miss out on any beating am sure you experienced bullying too in fstc unless the school is in Mars. You missed out on a one time life experience. At king college you learn not education but also discover who you are, that King's are born, King's are made and King's reign. Look and you brother well and you will see the difference.. The way people are reacting on this issue seem somehow and will, if care is not taken, cause more harm.
It's true that the death of that boy is a heartbroken one, but we should also, at the same time try to be reasonable.

The 25 year anniversary the woman mentioned was not as organizing anniversary party.
She was trying to point out that the school has bn in existence for 25 years.
That means, 25 years of good work. For this, we should not just kill the school rather demand for reformation.
The school has produced people that are doing well in the society and even in the diaspora.
Yes, a grievous mistake has been made, we still need to look into how to forestall its recurrence.

95% of private schools are guilty of this. Especially those private schools that enjoy patronage from rich parents. They place the students above every other staff of the school.

The moment the children are dropped in the school it means they are under the care of the school, this is not a public school that anything goes..... for this boy to be bullied that lead to his death means it has been going on and the school can't claim ignorant or pretend not to know....... unfortunately this boy was not lucky........

The school authority can't rely on the threat or information from the other students, they should've known that such injury is beyond football injury.....
