post=109239940: The harsh truth is that if we keep the fuel subsidy, we are going to go into more and more debt. Subsidy is funded by oil revenues. Oil revenues haven't been stable or favorable to us since April 2014, when the Saudis decided to play a game of chicken with American oil producers which backfired on both of them. Tax revenues are not high enough to fund subsidies, and we haven't diversified our economy enough away from oil Anyone opposing subsidy removal is living in dreamland. GEJ who was forced to retain subsidy ended up throwing away billions, which could have been used for better things. Your beloved leader has seen the light, so you better get on the train. Beyond politics, subsidy must go. 1 Like |

Baseless protest. Government real target should be around #300 pump price. The #350 is to allow toothless bulldogs like NLC and SERAP to wail and at the end, they'll all settle at #300 |

The FG used more than 6years living in denial instead of taking loans to repair the moribund refineries or/and build new ones as a compliment! Now they want to subject Nigerians to more hardship with more than a 100% increase in the fuel price.. What is their backup plan to reduce the effect on Nigerians and the economy? bribing 40 million Nigerians with 5k monthly! Hilarious! 1 Like |
