That's for them to find out. After all they claim to be great researchers.
Some if not most of them were instrumental in getting people like Buhari and Adamu to their present positions. I don't understand why suddenly they expect them to show great love and commitment to western education.

This strike won't end the usual way, i don't think the Government is ready pay ASUU for going on strike, at most they will offer them one or two months Salaries.

That's for them to find out? I knew you have nothing reasonable to say, you just sit in your room and post whatever comes to your, yet you can't suggest a way forward.
Nobody should take this guy serious.

ASUU is one of the strongest pressure group in Nigeria if not the strongest. This action has been on for more than 8nonths now, and they are not backing down, and so you think a lame instruction has going back to class by this FG would hold waters. My brother, is as much as I want this stand off to end, ASUU is having the ace and the FG knows it. If today FG proscribe ASUU, then the university system in Nigeria won't survive it. Most of this lecturer can easily get better or equal offer in some African countries at the very least. FG knows better, and they would blink first, I can assure you of that.

We need less than 50% of Nigerians to have your level of wisdom and understanding. The country will become great again.

Guy,YouTube have been saving life. One lecturer will be explaining a engineering topic in class, sleep and headache go dey worry person but once you open youtube. You will see that it is not hard.Thank God for technology.

I dey tell you.

Thank God for technology.

For me, the best part of learning on Youtube, and all those other online learning platforms, is that you learn at your own pace and at your own convenience.

Nothing like all these nonsense and incessant ASUU strikes, or examinations, or rushed lectures to spoil your fun.

That's a lame research, consdering it has never really worked but only waste students time.
But i think FG is ready to discredit the research once and for all this time around.

You seem to have some good information on FG next line of action.

Call it whatever you want but it works perfectly for ASUU.

In life, when it comes to negotiations, there's something called BARGAINING CHIPS.

If you are going into any negotiations without having your bargaining chips, you have lost already.

FG uses their threat of Salary Withholding method as their bargaining chip.

ASUU uses embarking on strike as their own bargaining chip.

It always comes down to who will blink first.

You might argue that students have to stay at home as a consequence of ASUU strike but have you considered the hardship lecturers will have to go through as a result of their salaries being withheld by the FG?

No pain; No Gain!!!
When they were working nobody held back their salaries.
If they want salaries, they should go back to work. Even the Bible supports it that whoever doesn't work must not eat.

That myth will win soon be demystified.

There are not many universites outside Nigeria that can tolerate Nigerian lecturers excesses.
Even if they get the job first time, most of them will come back after getting involved in corruption, plagiarism, sex and money for marks and incessant absence from lectures.

If asking for what's rightfully ones is termed excess, then their excess is right. We have bad lecturer and so we have good ones, and this applies not only in nigeria, so beat that. And for plagiarism, we have had some cases so have we had breakthrough research by our lecturers here. In fact, with the little that goes into the educational sector in Nigeria, compared to bureaucracy, then you will give kudos to them.

Lol, count how many months ASUU have spent at home from just 2017 till now.
Mr, it won't be business as usual this time around. That's the bitter truth.
I just pity some lecturers who have taken LAS (loan against salary) just to feed their families.

I know one Lecturer in TASUED who started raining courses on his siblings last month and warned them not to call him again, one was even calling and crying for the balance of school fees cos they were about to start exam.

Yet the so called FG they think they are fighting are not affected in any way.

Today is 7
One thing is clear, Buhari won't pay ASUU from March to November fully.
So ASUU should make up their minds

It is 9th not 7th, I corrected it.

It is not March to November, it is July to November. And for some it is August to November.

They will pay; just wait and see.

Even the little that goes into education is not being properly used for education.

NUC got an allocation a few years ago, and like 70% of it was budgetted for SUVs and little for research. It was a News that made a lot of headlines.

That's one of the mistakes of this clueless Government, it's rare to see any seriousness or uniformity.
All salaries should have been stopped since May.

Owed salaries?
You mean these great lecturers were busy working and delivering great lectures yet this evil government has decided not to pay them for their work?
This is pure evil.
Very funny.
You can say what you want about ASUU,but any right thinking person won't hold brief against them.
ASUU is the only thing standing btw university education and the destructive hands of this government.
By the time the government has reduced university lecturers to primary school teachers which has been their plan, folks like you will still wonder why Nigerians are rushing off in droves to mediocre and over priced foreign schools.

Since all those workers didn't move a pin during the lock down, why should they be paid?

you have to understand human psychology for you to get some things in this country of ours. House members get largesse from FG to buy themselves brand new car, and some are not even half the brain those lecturer are, while the real brain chase public molue. So what do you expect when they have the opportunity to get themselves a good car, while still active. Human nature is such that we migrate from less conducive environment to a better one, so their natural instinct kicked in when the opportunity arises. In advance clime, lecturer are given benefits including housing, medical, holiday expenses among others to get them motivated, but here you have to pay from your salary, and where available I can categorically tell you its never conducive expect in few cases I may not be aware of. Point is when you underpay, under motive those saddles with your children's future, and lace up your purse at their detriment, then except this kind of reaction and action.

Any lecturer eyeing the packages of a senator should resign and go and campaign in his or her constituent. Some of them can apply to NNPC and Shell too. It's a free world, but there are stratifications.

In as much as it hurts that I have stayed at home for some long, I believe ASUU is right not to call off the strike.

You know this our govt. is so wicked. How can you refuse to pay your workers and expect them to continue working? No, it doesn't go well that way, so please pay up.

Paying some striking lecturers till August is one of the many failures of this administration.
And Biodun will come out and cry everytime that they can't resume on empty stomach as if they've stopped salaries since April.
You only need to check the numbers of months they've spent at home since 2017 to get disgusted.
It will still be same story very soon, even if government accept UTAS. They will say UTAS has been tampered with and it has paid another professor 8k, pay us via Western Union.
