No jobs, no basic amenities, nothing! Virtually nothing works in this country! What do you want them to do Would u rather they carry guns and rob their neighbours Come to think of it! What is "yahoo yahoo" compared to the billions of dollars that are being stashed away by our corrupt leaders with the assistance of those same whites Abeg! E don do!

@poster,
You have some nerves, So because they are graduates, without jobs, that somehow gives them the right to cheat people out of their hard earned money?
Abeg go sleep,

So the best way to solve a bad situation is to make up a hopeless solution justified by even more hopeless excuses. undecided

I don't think it is necessarily about making excuses but if you look at life in Nigeria, people are seriously restricted. I was at the department of taxation here on friday and I was given a list of possible businesses I can get into and I kid you not, I am able to start a POwer company here with incentives from government if I do. These graduates are seriously restricted in Nigeria by the government.

um, from what I've read on some yahoo yahoo threads here:

these yahoozee boys are proud of what they do and make no apologies to anyone about it,

and they dont sound like graduates. undecided

It's just that i pity the average Nigerians. Una no dey go outside sef? Una no dey see wetin dey happen around? Blame our corrupt leaders and not the yahoo boys: At least the rate of armed robbery has decreased since the inception of "yahoo yahoo".

Why should I, a West Indian, attack your corrupt leaders? It still baffles me as to why the masses sit back and allow the minority to render havoc on their economies? In my islands, we the people remove anyone from office whom we believe is there for his or her own selfish gain. And No we don't use force. It is just a matter of principle. A few years ago the then Prime Minister wasnt going what was expected, and we the people shut the entire islands down. After 1 week he had no choice but to resign and call fresh elections. It is hight time for the people to stop crying foul and do something to remedy the situation. I do empathise with you guys, however, yahoo yahoo is NOT the solution. peace,

Everybody knows that. Life in Nigeria is very hard weather as a graduate or not. The Nigerian government is a total fraud. But how do u solve one problem by creating another?

And most Yahoo Yahoo boyz are actually looking for easy money. They are not neccessarily unemployed graduates. These are guys that would make a hit and use the money to front all around town. Once the money dries up, U see them back to the cyber cafe again. They are no different from armed robbers.

And where r u from? undecided

U are rite in assessment about the masses sitting back and taking all the shit being thrown at them. I do not know how it is gonna be done but somehow I believe that Nigeria's future actually lies in the hands of masses and not the rulers. One day, just one day the masses would say enuff is enuff. Unfortunately, we as the people are more concerned in tribal, ethnic and religious sentiments to bother about what is actuallyu going on. Just take a look @ NL

I am from the Caribbean( southern) but presently resides in the Big Apple.
I very much understand where you are coming from. Funny enough, as we speak, I am having this same conversation with a fellow Nigeria and he is outlining the situation to me. It is preposterous. So many graduates, without jobs. I never knew it was so grave an issue. Something definitely needs to be done to curb this problem.
I have read posts here on NL by Nigerians who I am sure have what it takes to make excellent goverment officials. I can name a few, but won't. My question is why don't these guys pool their resources and take over the affairs of their country? Get rid of the bad apples and strive to make things better for the masses?( just a thought)
