The 2010 riot was a different thing, though. You can't fault them for rioting, however what was problematic was their excesses. And 2010 riot wasn't just a black thing - Asians and whites got involved as well.

It's a generational thing in black communities and I don't think the problem falls solely on the parents. Everyone has to play a role; including the government.

Most of these black youths are criminalised while still in their teens. By the time they hit adulthood and find that stringent background checks excludes them permanently from the work force, the process of emasculation is complete. It is at this point that the ravaged mind become fertile ground for out-liers like the Islamic fundies.

In the US, Nigerian immigrants do not have the luxury of going on welfare, because in order to get it, you must be a citizen. That is why they have a better work ethic than ones across the Atlantic found in the UK.
