Hello Hotstepper, I really would appreciate your help. I am due in August and will want to know how I can get a doctor as soon as possible. Plus I haven't applied for the Canadian visa yet. Thanks.
Re: Giving Birth In Canada by ynkthomas: 9:35pm On Apr 24, 2015

I have never liked America though for two reasons. One: they call themselves world power yet the country suffers from a high rate of unemployment. Two: the gun issue

Did you say high rate of unemployment? What is the rate of unemployment in the US? Some people just make up things...the rate of unemployment in Nigeria is low abi? SMH

Gun culture has it pros and cons, robbers can`t rob you like they rob anyhow in Nigeria cos they don`t know if the home owner has a gun or not.

I apply first and get visa. Make sure to apply via online. Good luck

Apply via online nd u want be asked if by are preggy. Birth certificate comes out within 1 week nd passport can come within a week or less if u pay more for express. If you are not coming with ur hubby, he will need to go to a Canadian consulate to sign sumthing there so they will make sure he's the dad or will he be coming along. At least from 5 weeks, the baby can go

dudet:
Hello peeps, new on this thread, i've read up on all of the posts though, but i have a few questions....(please pardon me if it appears that i'm asking questions that have already being answered)

So, i'm five months pregnant, awaiting a response from the US embassy on my application (renewal). My sister lives in Canada (Hamilton, Ontario) and i want to go put to bed at the hospital there. I've already been in touch with the dr. and he's asked that i bring all of my medical information when coming in.

However, how soon after having the baby would i be able to come back to Nigeria (in terms of getting the baby's passport and all)? I have two kids already and can't afford to leave them for too long or take them along (as they are fairly older and need to be in school).

Also, for my Canadian visa application, is there somewhere i can indicate i'm pregnant or would I be asked at the point of entry?

Thanks all.....kindly respond.

Hello All,

Been following this thread for a bit, like someone mentioned we should make it more active.

I found the below, it could help those of you still considering hiding your pregnancies.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/temp/visa/processing/birth.asp

@Hotstepper thanks for your updates, I'm going to be asking you a few questions if you dont mind.

first do you have any information on doctors in Calgary? I am currently looking for a doctor there as that's where im interested in birthing.

I know there are only 4 hospitals in Calgary Foothill, Rockyview, South Health Campus and Peter Lougheed Centre.

My sister has booked an appointment with her family doctor to ask on my behalf but I just wanted to know if you had any info on ObyGyns there.

Secondly do you have an idea what the process of securing the baby's passport is like? duration, process etc.

I'll appreciate your feedback.

thanks

Unfortunately I do not know anything about hospitals in that city but you are lucky that your sister stays there.

You can get passport in 2 days sef once you pay for express, under than that, u can get it within a week.

Hi Nita2013,

Please can you ask your boss about more details of her birth in Calgary? Doctor, Hospitals, what tests were accepted from Naij etc.

I'll appreciate your response.

Thanks

I am in Toronto. And she used Humber River, the Finch site.

It will be much better for u to get naija travel document for just 1 way cuz it will be much easier for u. A lot of mess goes on at da naija embassy. My family friend got hers within 3 days so she will get naija passport for her son in naija.

They accept naija test here and depending on how far you are, some tests can't be done again anyway and they go ahead and ask you to do necessary test. My family friend came at 8 months and it's only 1 test that she did
