True but it is not over until it is over.

PDP has not done well enough in places like Ife to overcome the deficit in APC strongholds. Overtaking Aregbe is almost impossible with the numbers currently released.

Apology accepted..........like I said earlier the PDP's strength lies in its ability to always perform above par in zones where it is weak. While winning in a landslide in its stronghold, you can hardly point to any election of recent where the PDP has polled below 35% but there are places in this country the APC can't go beyond 5%, ......in places like Ondo which should be an APC stronghold, the party came 3rd behind LP and PDP in the guber polls and had barely 10% of the votes in the recent bye election in Ilaje, in plateau even Dariye's LP is stronger than the APC.....compare with Osun where at worst the PDP will secure 35% or Oyo etc, the PDP has a national reach the APC can't even near and that's why it would continue to dominate at the federal level and in most states

It may be...due to the sentiment factor in the SW then.

The mistake PDP made was selling an unsaleable candidate like Omisore to Osun thinking by deploying Federal might to intimidate the people their candidate will win.

That sums up everything. Omisore has never been a popular politician in Osun. To defeat an incumbent, especially one that has performed creditably, you need more than a show of force. Fayose won Ekiti on his own popularity, his modest record in office and strong grassroots mobilization. The nakednes.s of "we have taken Ekiti" will be out for all to see in 2015 when Fayose's name won't be on ballot paper.

Believe me, a lot of things have happened between 2011 till now when it comes to presidential election. Religion, Ethnicity, Race, etc would play a huge part! Just bookmark my post!

you say Omisore was unsellable, that I doubt, he was the strongest candidate the PDP had, Isiaka adeleke couldn't win, wole oke was too weak.....Omisore was the strongest of the lot, the problem was that Aregbesola was relatively popular and a grassroots guy unlike Fayemi who was detached from local politics, believe me if anybody other than aregbesila was on that box Omisore could have won.....in 2018 he could still try
Only Ijeshas generally had issues with Omisore because of bola ige

Second and final warning wear your mask. Pix of oshogbo can cause epidemic. There iss need to declare state of emergence on mud house and rustic zinc in oshogbo. Even the best hotel in oshogbo had bed bug and served spoilt food. We switched to another hotel own by a senator but that one too smells but better than former. I have not eaten in this dungeon since yesterday. I can't wait to leave this slum with the first chopper tomorrow morning.

grin grin grin A day is too long in politics, not to talk of years. What's the assurance that Omisore ll still be in PDP post 2015 general elections? My prediction is simple, Omisore can't get PDP ticket in 2018. A strong APC member who defects to PDP will likely get it.

Believe me , the PDP has taken Ekiti and would sweep everything in Ekiti, people say Fayose won based on his popularity alone forgetting he lost to an unknown Ojudu in 2011 Senate seat when he ran in LP, heck he was third, SWesterners generally vote the party of the incumbent gov in HOA and NASS elections, in 2011 the ACN swept virtually all electable seats in Ekiti since the governor was APC despite weak candidates like Ojudu etc. What makes you think 2015 will be different.

Aregbe had enough time, to repair most of his political issues, after seeing what happened in Ekiti. If the election were held 2-3 weeks after the Ekiti election,I believe the results would have different. Aregbe effectively deployed state resources and used his power as the Incumbent very well.
