The same Oyinlola that could not deliver his polling station?

The beauty of FREE AND FAIR election is also that it exposes feather weight or orphan politicians like Oyinlola.

In general term.... Losing him to APC didn't help PDP...sometimes politics is about perception and bandwagon effect

Oyo however is lost to the APC, Ladoja of Accord is the governor in waiting, Both Senators Adeseun and Lanlehin have decamped from the APC and he seemed to have an agreement with PDP's Akala.....he is still refusing to decamp to the PDP although the president met him some weeks back when GEJ was in Lagos

I agree.....paying civil servants et al......he campaigned like he was the underdog

I think, we have seen two campaigns in SW, that will be studied for years to come. Fayose in Ekiti and Aregbe in Osun. They practically ran similar campaigns. One as the challenger, the other as the sitting gov. Both extremely effective.

Aregbe had enough time, to repair most of his political issues, after seeing what happened in Ekiti. If the election were held 2-3 weeks after the Ekiti election,I believe the results would have different. Aregbe effectively deployed state resources and used his power as the Incumbent very well.
It was even rumoured that Aregbe mobilized funds from states like Rivers and Lagos to pay salaries. FREE AND FAIR elections FORCED Aregbe to do more for Osun people. That is the beauty of democracy.

Anyway, if the PDP candidate loses today, he should try again in 4 years time

Believe me , the PDP has taken Ekiti and would sweep everything in Ekiti, people say Fayose won based on his popularity alone forgetting he lost to an unknown Ojudu in 2011 Senate seat when he ran in LP, heck he was third, SWesterners generally vote the party of the incumbent gov in HOA and NASS elections, in 2011 the ACN swept virtually all electable seats in Ekiti since the governor was APC despite weak candidates like Ojudu etc. What makes you think 2015 will be different.

You forget Fayose might not be there again by 2015 after the state HOA must have given him the Nyako treatment.

Osun was lost either way and his loyalty was circumspect....in politics you lose some, you win some, next up is Adamawa Buba Marwa or Nuhu Ribadu should crush very easily Atiku's boy Boss Mustapha who would fly the APC flag........Congrats to Aregbe, his people love him, Osun people have spoken,

Oyinlola has never won any election in his entire life except ones rigged by PDP. But politics is more of a game of addition than subtraction. Weak or strong, he's a former governor and still has his loyalists.

I tell you this in confidence, at least 10 of the Ekiti HOA members will decamp after Fayose is sworn in in October, its a done deal.

Apology accepted..........like I said earlier the PDP's strength lies in its ability to always perform above par in zones where it is weak. While winning in a landslide in its stronghold, you can hardly point to any election of recent where the PDP has polled below 35% but there are places in this country the APC can't go beyond 5%, ......in places like Ondo which should be an APC stronghold, the party came 3rd behind LP and PDP in the guber polls and had barely 10% of the votes in the recent bye election in Ilaje, in plateau even Dariye's LP is stronger than the APC.....compare with Osun where at worst the PDP will secure 35% or Oyo etc, the PDP has a national reach the APC can't even near and that's why it would continue to dominate at the federal level and in most states
This is because for many years, PDP was virtually the only NATIONAL PARTY. if you understand the patronage system of Nigerian politics, you will agree with me that it is a miracle that PDP does not control ALL the state of the federation.
Aside from Lagos-where TINUBU have consistently resisted the PDP juggernaut, tell me a state in Nigeria that PDP had not control at one time or the other?
The coming of APC, if they overcome their teething problems, will eventually change the political map of Nigeria.

Can't base a win for Aregbesola primarily on Illesa and Ohsogbo.

Still too early to conclude, too close results.

Omisere is still in the Game with the counting continuing.

Exactly they both campaigned effectively , ward to ward, town to town and capitalized on tgeir opponents weakness,it was impressive....

No matter where he got money, he solved a major political problem. He did not display the political naivety of Fayemi. He saw a liability and, he took care of it. That's why he is winning today.

Will he give them PDP ticket to contest in 2015 or appoint them commissioners? What would be the gains of PDP members jostling to contest for same elections? You forgot that ACN /APC maintained its 13 members throughout Oni's tenure?

Even the best hotel in oshogbo had bed bug and served spoilt food. We switched to another hotel own by a senator but that one too smells but better than former.
