What I don't agree with is the assertion that Yahweh or Allah or Krishna is that First Cause.

Note: I'm only using the term First Cause for lack of a better one.

As for the second part: I can't speak for the whole, everyone has their reasons why they believe or don't believe a thing. As for me, I stopped believing in a Yahweh god because I became tired of defending the illogic of his very being against common sense. And I bet you've heard this a lot of times, that the burden of proof lies on the one making a claim not the one who doesn't believe that claim.

Blue: In Christianity we call it questioning your faith. I used to and later dropped all facts about the Existence of God; This was until I literally was confronted by a spirit and thoroughly dealt with. Sounds so funny huh!..
