kegikwanu:

My proposal:

Set up monuments in towns of Enugu, Owerri and Aba and a public holiday in the eastern states.
This must be done whether the FG likes it or not.
Every country tends to rollup its history, but the slaughterhouse Biafra was never considered but rather ignored.
So as I said, we the former Biafrans must remember and salute.
We owe this not only to the fallen, but also to the Easteners in general
.

HAIL

I think you hit the nail on the head. I really think that the day we Igbos decide to do something like this, the FG has no choice about it. It is in their interest to support something like that or they will have a MASSOB doing something far worse! The fear that accompany a loss of war doesn't last for ever. Soon our people will start asking some hard questions and seeking real remedies for the genocide levied on our people in the name of Nigerian unity.
Re: Ndiigbo & Biafrans: Time To Properly Honour Our Dead Heroes In Biafra by Onlytruth(m): 6:11pm On Nov 24, 2009
And I also say it should include a public holiday in the east (if other easterners don't observe it, then core Igboland must do this). The holiday will help preserve the memories of our dead heroes and remind the future generations about what they fought for and what they died for. The lies must not be allowed to continue.
We lost a war, yes, but we never lost the judgment of history; the other side lost that!
If we don't do this, the other side will keep trying to rope us into the 40 year mess which they hoisted on Nigeria. We really have to do this.

lol wetin concern me abi? simple fact im tired of seeing these damn biarfa stuvs posted every damn where its annoying. and I said yoruba guy part not for tribal reason but to refute the opinion some igbos have that yorubas want to marginalize them, wipe them out, or whatever some paranoid people may think.

Whether the thread says ndigbo or not doesnt change the fact that EVERY IGBO comments on a page that has something to with a yoruba person in politics, this thread is no different.

tribalistic shallow amaka

In fact to  actualized Biafra

Go and ask honest elders in your towns and villages and they will tell you that the Igbo and their brothers in the Eastern Region Biafra had been practicing sophisticated democracy for thousands of years until the garbage, the filth called Nigeria was imposed on them. Nigeria has never been a democracy, is not a democracy, and will never be a democracy.

Nigeria is poison and anyone who wants the Igbo and their brothers in Eastern Region Biafra to continue to be in Nigeria is an idiot, and a fool deserving of no iota of respect from our people.
Re: Ndiigbo & Biafrans: Time To Properly Honour Our Dead Heroes In Biafra by emyah(m): 2:01pm On Nov 25, 2009
Some people have been going around and preaching to our people that there is no point resisting the subjugation, persecution, and taking away of our freedom by Nigeria . They are telling our people that it is better for our people to submit to domination, persecution, and enslavement by the Hausa Fulani Yoruba oligarchs and the Sokoto Caliphate.

How can anyone who knows of the history of the Igbo and other people of Eastern Region even think of suggesting this to our people? It is an insult on the intelligence of our people to even suggest this.
Re: Ndiigbo & Biafrans: Time To Properly Honour Our Dead Heroes In Biafra by emyah(m): 2:04pm On Nov 25, 2009
Those who succumbed to amnesty wayo by leprous Umaru YarAdua; those who accepted the apple from the snake in the garden of Aden will forever live to regret it. It won’t be long now before they confess and start regretting. No, it won’t be long. The Igbo and their brothers in the Eastern Region Biafra are known for resisting tyranny, oppression and fighting until they liberate themselves.

Therefore the people of Eastern Region Biafra will never relent until they liberate themselves from the slavery to which they have been subjected by the Hausa Fulani Yoruba oligarchy and the Sokoto Caliphate.

These Nigerians are monsters without soul or conscience. The British cobbled several, independent Nations into the nonsense called One Nigeria. It does not make any sense; it doesn’t fit and if it doesn’t fit, you must dissolve One Nigeria and allow the different Nations to assume their sovereignty once again.

May God bless all the smart people of Biafra and the sovereign independent State of Biafra!

Who told you one Nigeria makes no sense. America is made up of thousands of groups and everyone wants to go there, incluiding maybe 99% of Nigerians. I’m sure if you go back far enough in history you’ll see that what we call Igbos were probably formed by all kinds of groups gradually assimilating into an Igbo speaking population.
It’s dictators like Ojukwu and an entire class of Igbo officers who realized that with the countercoup of 1966 they had no more realistic carreer opportunites as military officers in Nigeria who started Biafra and kept it going. Baifra was suicide from the start. That people followed ojukwu shows their illiteracy and ignorance of military affairs. Let me say it again. In war, the side with the greater firepower wins.
Go fight another one and another ten million will die.

The lies and idiocy continues  grin

Please, if you have nothing good to say about our dead heroes please move on to other threads! This is in memory of our Biafran soldiers who died defending our homeland, and the innocent women and children who were starved to death by your fathers. I understand you can't resist the temptation to be gleeful, but don't be annoyed if someone curses you out.
Re: Ndiigbo & Biafrans: Time To Properly Honour Our Dead Heroes In Biafra by Edruezzi: 5:56pm On Nov 29, 2009
Yes, the men who fought for Biafra were heroes. By the way my uncle died fighting for Biafra.
I must note however that they fought mostly out of fear that if they did not Nigerian forces would wipe out the Igbos. That however was a bit of propaganda the Biafra government cooked up. The Biafra government also exaggerated the amount of weapons it had. Alexander Madiebo himself said that if the people had known the extent to which Biafra had no weapons they would have called for a stop to the war.
It may perhaps be noble to take up arms in self defence. Biafra was suicidal, and based on a lie.
And onlytruth, please stop calling me an idiot. I’m smarter than fifty of you.

You're an idiot, get lost.

Perhaps I shouldn't be so crude, but your ignorance of the matter kind of annoyed me.

What ignorance? You’re the one who’s ignorant. The Biafra leadership used a propaganda machine to keep its people fighting an unwinnable war. Biafra was suicide, pure and simple, and it actually ended up more firmly entrenching the Hausa-Fulani leadership. It was a strategic blunder of the Igbo. Cry all you want.

Those speaking against Biafra will be the first to rush to any new liberated
country like South Sudan to go and stay with out remembering that it takes
noble and courageous soul to stand up for your people.

I think one senator spoke about honoring our heroes and i believe they
are doing something in that direction.
