Heard on TV (MITV) about 30 minutes ago that there were reports of fire at AIT premises this afternoon.

And the station has been off.

Any news on this?

FIRE OUTBREAK

The main studio of the African Independent Television, Alagbado, Lagos this evening went up in flames with equiptment and other property worth several millions of Naira destroyed.

A staff of the organisation who spoke to our correspondent under the condition of anonymity said the cause of the fire had yet to be known, even as he said that the property destroyed could not be quantified at that momment.

He said efforts were still being made to put out the inferno.
