I know there is a saying spare the rod n spoil the child .. but there are 101 ways to punish a child n he or she will adhere to your instructions. You may be beating a child this way out of anger n disfigure your child n this is a girl for goodness sake.

So it's a boy you wantu come and disfigure shey?

Be it insanity or brutality. I will never support either party.
Some Children are so stubborn{especially girls} they feel they are at the peak of their life and their parent has nothing to do about it.. The parent on the other hand went too far.
If a child feels too big to stay at home or sleeps out without any reason then he/she is ready for marriage and should quietly leave my house.

It's called discipline. I wouldn't fault the parents 'cause from the looks of things, she's a teenager and may be exhibiting signs of waywardness. If she had accounted for her movement, she won't have gotten this beaten.

Words alone doesn't correct these ones.

God bless you dear. I hate the fact that some people went through more than this in their various home but here they are condemning like they have never been flogged before; bunch of pretenders.

Good, the parent did well given benefit of doubts. The same reason her picture got to an Instagram user, and reaching Nairaland is sufficient that it's a boy friend issue and she is likely a teenager.

This is too much BUT what if she gets impregnated, kidnapped or raped? which is better?

Those are are even better what if she get HIV/AIDS or any other STIs in the process. Its good for parents to put some fears in their children.

Words alone doesn't correct these ones. If you've never been beaten as a Nigerian child by your parents for your wrongs then you're missing 'cause some day you'll look back and thank them for correcting you the hard way.

I love my mama sha 'cause she no dey joke when you mess up. grin

I beg to disagree. There is discipline and there is abuse. This right here is abuse. Trust me this girl is not learning anything here, she will be thinking of running away from home right now. In sane society, that mother will be in jail waiting to see a judge right now.
