When Paul Fischer checked his bank account Friday night, he had a happy surprise. His balance had exploded to $88,888,888,888.88. A very lucky number indeed, and close to $89 billion.

Of course, the balance was a technical error by SunTrust Bank , which quickly fixed the problem. It also may have occurred in other accounts.

"You say, 'Eighty-eight billion, what can I do with that?'" said Mr. Fischer, who owns a jewelry concessionaire for Florida theme parks. "Maybe a handful of us could have brought down SunTrust Bank."

Mr. Fischer had other ideas as well. Before the problem was fixed, he asked a SunTrust rep if he could move the money to an interest-bearing account until it was reclaimed and donate the interest to charity. Total interest: more than $7.3 million.

The bank said no.

The money was stripped out of his account by Saturday morning.

"It's all gone. I'm poor again," he said. "I was a billionaire for five hours."

This kind of bank error happens frequently. But Mr. Fischer raises an interesting question:

If its in Naija, my disappearing act no go get part 2.With online transfers, ATM and cheques to move the money away.
Besides, them no go detect am in 5 hrs.
They probably will after a few days when I don bail go Libya/Cuba/Congo Brazaville (idea is to go to the last place you will be found).

If its in the UK or US,I'd just report it since I gotta return everything I've invested with the money.I cant make profit for bank to claim back.

There is something linked to the digit of that amount. All 8; there's cloning somewhere.

Its not possible to collect such money in cash but its possible to collect at worst 5 billion out of the money within 5hrs,all you need is only the STATEMENT OF ACCOUNT

Would need more than five hours to think out something, then the money'd be gone!

if na 88 billion Naira, I will write cheque of 500,000 Naira each for them to go to any branch to withdraw atleast 20,000,000, ha omo this easter go Blast.

I will run mad for 1 hour, Then the remaining 4 hours-A very short time frame to achieve anything meaningful

YES $89B or M for my account ke?, I will close that account that very day., The bank will not know the problem, and will be running around on legalities, b4 u know, my money will be in my abode. Its very simple. As I see the values, I will request close of account

In 3hrs i'll  go to an estate agent in chelsea and buy 10 houses , buy 2 in my area and close the account or even leave it open.
They may notice the reduction and think its part of the glitch since 12 houses wont make so much impact
on such an amount.

By the time they wrangle to trace the money or call estate agents, some days would have passed.

By then i would have opened an account in another bank, "commissioned" the estate agents,sold the houses at reduced price and moved my pay to naija.

Then take the  eurostar to europe and flight to PH.

I'll target to cut $20m or less; aiming for too much will get you caught quickly.

Then in the third hour I will call a press conference and announce that I will be buying Google for $80 Billion.

Then in the fourth hour the price of google would have skyrocketed by say 25% as a result of the intended acquisition.

Then just before the fifth, I sell my shares which would now be worth $10 billion dollars. Then I annouce I am no more buying google.

In the fifth hour, I return the $88 billion dollars to the bank. I have made $2 billion dollars in profits form the sale of my shares.

With a fraction of my $2 billion dollars, I'll buy a small country in the Carribean and make myself the President.
