Having A Dog In An Unfenced House/Crib Is Bad To Worst. by Faccouk(m): 11:41am On May 24, 2018
People need to understand the fact that if your crib / shade isn't fenced, it's prior to the dog, going about having various diseases, bitten by wild street dogs or other stray animals.
Chaining your dog from morning to night ain't gonna do justice to the fact that, it need to be loose & have its own free time & space in having fun in the compound. People tend in giving excuse that it doesn't matter but of course it does matter. Or else you want to have it inside your crib for life.
Feel free to give your opinion on here. wink wink

As long as one has the time and resources to exercise a dog physically and mentally on a daily basis, I see no reason why one cannot keep a dog in an unfenced home...well, except ofcourse the neighbours object.

Even dogs that roam freely in a fenced home are not always free to roam, they're sometimes chained or caged within their fenced compound. They also fall Ill as well, and are often exposed to other hazards as a direct or indirect result of their being allowed to roam freely.

Really? Mr taarh try & leave your dog in an Unfenced or well secure environment. If that dog of yours won't turn stray.
Then you will tell me how stray dog are given that name.

I think he meant dogs that can be kept indoors OP, like the toy breeds...

Mr Taarh didn't specify on that, toy dogs are only meant for indoor. Nice that you Roger the Topic.

there are dogs living in fenced yards that are always on chain or in their crate(i have seen and i still see many) they rarely get any form of exercise other than barking all day reason becos neighbours or some family members don't like dogs so they must be kept far away on The other hand yu live in an unfenced yard but make it a habit to exercise and tire out your dog daily before sending him to its cage which is better?
Re: Having A Dog In An Unfenced House/Crib Is Bad To Worst. by Faccouk(m): 3:55pm On May 24, 2018
I'm not talking about exercising the dog, it's sure to exercise a dog "sometimes/most times"
Won't they release the dog at night? That's where I'm hitting at. You can have a cage or chain it but will you cage it at night or chain it?
Chaining a dog at night has cause so many dog owners losing their dog to wild animals or infected ones, even to burglars.

no no no toy breeds aren't "meant for only indoor" like I said get your facts right Google would help. bull dogs, Labrador retrievers, poodle, grey hounds would strive indoor bruh you've heard of Zeus tallest dog is you've seen the documentary he was kept indoors so my point almost any dog can be kept indoor under the right circumstances

Did you read the thread from the start, or my quoted & reply to other Nlders? I'm not talking of indoor or toy breed. I'm saying leaving your pet/dog in a premise that isn't fenced, "Blocks/Wood around a compound/estate" make the dog a victim of any circumstances. Thanks for reading through

My vetenary doctor has got this dog that somebody gave to him so he tried to sell it but no one would buy it, but I tried to buy it then his assistant told me #80,000 and the dog is not even a purebred its some kind of mixed breed, anyway, I didn't buy it because of the huge price and like i said nobody wanted to buy it but some people tried to adopt it but the vetrinery refused and he can't even afford to take care of the dog or maybe he can but does't want to spend money, he leaves the dog chained up 24/7 and feeds it only once every 3 days, sometimes even 5. The dog was looking good at first but because of starvation he became shorter than he was, he also used to be very vicious barking like he wants to cut his chain whenever somebody goes there but now the dog is depressed, he does not even bark anymore, he will just be looking at people. The vetenary doctor has damaged that dog all because of the love of money.

That's Most Vet Drs for you in Nigeria, they are never concerned for the full well-being of the dog, only the money that boost their morale to treat a dog, compared to the western countries or Europe. It's painful that the dog won't survive long.

Personal, I lose interest in stray dogs that have no one to make cautious effort to cater for them. They dip their noses into anything they see and eat about anything just to survive. Truth be told, but envy their immune systems especially that of our Nigerian ekuke. They don't get vaccinated, yet they are die hard fighters that fight real hard health wise. Consequently, I feel unhappy putting myself in the shoes of a dog that has no memory of when it stepped out of its compound. In some cases, some owners pay vets to come treat the dog in the house so the dog doesn't really explore its vicinity.
I think it's fair if a dog owner walks his dog about twice a week or at worst once a week (even if it is weekends), for the mental state of the dog to get stimulated. Let him see the outside world, meet new people, meet other dogs, socialise, etc.
For a dog in an unfenced compound, there are two choices..... It spend a large chunk of its life in a cage (a practice done by some "breeders" called millers. They acquired dogs strictly for monetary gains... Or spends a free roam life. In such case, even it's owner won't be too comfortable letting it into his house cos of the fear of the unknown (they dont know where it has toured). Such dogs could also get killed by cars, wicked people, or other avoidable incidents.
Bottom line..... Don't get a dog if you don't have what it take to own one (not just monetary aspect).
Anyone can own a dog, but not everyone should own a dog

Well said bro, best comment ever on this Thread.
You still added some spicy on it which I do appreciate.
Is there how I can put this comment above all comments?
