The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has berated the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, over the federal government’s empowerment of some traders with N10,000 in Osun State.



PDP’s spokesperson, Kola Ologbondiyan, said it was a shame that Osinbajo could condescend to empower “Agbo jedi” sellers with N10,000 in Osun State.

Sharing a photograph of those empowered on his Twitter handle, Ologbondiyan wrote, “It’s a shame that a pastor and a professor of law, VP @ProfOsinbajo will stoop this low to encourage the 10k “agbo jedi” empowerment in Osun.

“Aregbe has made life so pitiable for Osun citizens.”

Osinbajo had on Monday arrived in Iwo, Osun State, to launch an empowerment programme for 30,000 traders across the state.

The programme tagged ‘Tradermoni’ is an initiative of the Federal Government in collaboration with the Bank of Industry for petty traders.

Each of the 30,000 traders are billed to receive the sum of N10,000 to boost their businesses.

Executive Director of BOI, Toyin Adeniji, said the bank would not relent until every Nigerian who is willing, has access to loans irrespective of their status or level of education.

Na wa oo. Are they job shaming those people? That's not fair. Many petty traders, when given the financial assistance, they can be a good business men and with good turn over. Is just that we found ourselves in a country where talents are killed daily. It's only in this country that you will see those that stole our common wealth , still mocking us untop of what we do. No support, no help, we provide everything we need by our selves and gain nothing from the government while we pay through our nose to serve them. To go to school is hell in nigeria, graduated nko? To get even 25k job nko ? Many businesses started from nothing. Not even a kobo or financial assistance from government. Go to bank to get loan, they will ask for your great grandfather birth certificate that is duly stamped by Tafawa balewa and confirmed by awolowo and attested by zik.
That 10k is millions to some people, I mean millions, yes, millions to some people. Many idiots that shouting here don't even have 3k in their account talkless of 10k. The don't even have source of income but virtually depends on begging to buy data or relying on their parents for stipends while the old man suffers to provide for you, yet you still come and complaint about someone doing small local jobs.
