[quote author=WritePal post=73480168]Ordinarily, this Sanwo guy is no match for Agbaje on whatever parameter you weigh them (experience, exposure, vision, independence), but, heck a typical Yorubaman or woman votes on sentiments. Even Ambode was no match for Agbaje, based on the pre-election TV debate. But does the average Yoruba Lagos resident consider that? Nope. He/she just wants to know the party that is 'tinwa-tinwa,' our own, Yoruba party' and that has nothing to do with Igbo. A classic act of deep rooted tribalistic nature. Agbaje,OBJ Fayose, FFK and co are not so popular in the SW cos they're broad-minded, largely de-tribalized, think from a national perspective and has followers outside the region. To become like Tinubu or Fashola in SW, be a regional champion and talk about tinwa-tinwa and SW interests only. Unfortunately, these characters can never be president in Nigeria, contrary to the daydream of their deluded worshippers. Do you know the main reason the average Yoruba supports APC? Pure sentiments. 1. It is in part ACN - a clearly regional party. 2. Osinbajo is vice president. 3. PDP does not have any major Yoruba person at the head [/quote)Please,tell us the characters the will be president in Nigeria?guess the likes of FFK,Fayose,Agbaje abi, think you know Nigeria President is different from biafrau.d president, day dreamer everywhere. |

WritePal:Man,you forget to add one reason which is 4.no visible project done or under construction in SW under PDP and no tangible position given to SW under their last regime and presently in their party post. Man,if all these shouldn't be a reason to support a party who put it into consideration, your brain needs to be checked. when comes to regions voting with sentiment,South East was number 1,followed by other regions,SW will be the last region on the list, but you people just because of what you will eat,you will rather think with you anus other than your brain. 1 Like |

olajizz01: Guy, I won't argue much with you as I see you can't really articulate your points. Let me just give you a few practical examples to show you the average SWesterner is the most politicaly sentimental. In 1999, PDP was formed with no regional affiliation and it won states in the East and North. SW went regional with ethnic party, Afenifere, tinwatinwa called AD. But SE has regional party APGA. How many states voted APGA? Only 1 (Anambra). The rest went national, PDP. Also, but north had CPC, a regional party. How many states voted CPC? Only 1 (Nasarawa). The rest went national, PDP or ANPP. But SW? Always, only parties that shout Afenifere, or tinwatinwa. From AD to ACN. Even AG and UPN are only in the region because Yorubas only vote for regional parties, not national. That is why Tinubu merged ACN with CPC (north or Buhari party) to form APC. So APC is not really a national party. It is 2 regional parties. That is why their supporters are mainly Yorubas and Hausas. It's just sentimental support. DO YOU UNDERSTAND NOW? Thank you. 1 Like |

WritePal:My point is that SW is the less sentimental region when it comes to voting,SW is a region that divided it votes in to two despite the fact that our son was vieing as VP in one of these two main parties,Gej got more than 80% votes in SE,SS,he came from SS,but SE voted for him because of ethic and religious sentiment, why PMB got close to thesame percent in the North, with thesame reasons,so argument with forming a regional party is irrelevant, all regions have their regional parties. So APC with 4 regions I.e SW and North is not a national party, but PDP that can boostfully win conveniently in two regions is your only national party. Your argument should be,PDP should be the only national party, why forming another national party(APC)simple. |
