The success of every interview is dependent on the skills you display. This determines either you are getting the job or not. However, there are

professional ways of handling an interview. These are:



[b]1. Research about the position you are applying for[/b]


Take time to diligently study the description of the post you are applying for. This helps you to know what exactly the company is looking for and

it gives you confident in preparing for the interview. Once you ascertain that, tailor your CV to match the description of the post. Ensure you

prepare your CV according to the post you are applying for.


2.[b]Master your CV[/b]

Every information on your CV must be imprinted in your brain. As a potential candidate, you must know your CV as you know your name. An

interviewer could ask you question based on the information you have provided in the CV. Answering intelligently on the previous post and how it

relates with the current post you are applying for will give the employer or interviewer confident that you are right for the job.


3.Research the company

It is absolutely imperative to learn about the company you are applying for before you proceed for an interview. You need to understand the

vision and mission, philosophy, core values, the year the company was founded and the organisational structure of the company. By so doing,

you will be able to tailor your answers and the company will be sure you there for a serious business and that you have done your own

homework. This aspect is being considered as essential. So, take it serious.


4. Be prepared

Preparation precedes luck. The level of your preparation determines how well you performed in an interview. Having, done all the aforementioned

you need to sit down and prepare for the interview. You must rehearse, rehearse and rehearse. Include in your bag all necessary tools (pen,

notepads etc.) you may need during the interview. Also, have many copies of all your credentials and understand direction to the office.


5. Don’t come late

If you go late to an interview you are creating a bad impression for yourself. Do your home by knowing how long it takes to get to the venue. You

should consider traffic, getting lost on the way or locating the building and gathering your thoughts before the interview begins. You should be

at the office at least 30 minutes before the interview commences. This will help you to gather your thought, read through your CV’s and build

confidence before the interview.
