As an offensive player, do you expect his hand to stick to his body?

on the build up , it was man city player that first hit the ball with his arm , before it gets to the Liverpool player
I don't really know why they are ignoring Benardo Silva's handball.

That was why the penalty was not given. If you read the article, the officials did not talk of the ball hitting Bernardo Silva's arm. The ball ricocheted to Silva's arm and was not a deliberate act.

Replay shows clearly that Trent Arnold Alexander on the other hand saw the ball and chose to use his hand to stop it. Which is clearly a deliberate act for a penalty.

The officials chose to deny it which shows a clear case of their corruption.

Ricochet or not, the letter of law says if the ball strikes the arm of an attacker, accidental or otherwise, and it creates an advantage for his team, then the defending team gets a freekick.

For those saying Trent's arm was in an unnatural position, have a look at the picture and tell me where Aguero, who is in similar stride to Trent, has his arms.

You're running at speed and suddenly have to brake, would your arms be tightly gummed to your body?

I didn't see all these analysis against my team when Mctominay or whoever it was fouled Origi and United scored. I didn't see the analysis when VAR decided Firmino's armpit was somehow further ahead of his shoulder to be in an offside position. I didn't see the analysis when Matip was clearly hurled down with a neck twister in the penalty box against Newcastle.
I didn't also see any analysis when Chamberlain played a shot and the Aston Villa player blocked it with his hands.

Make una go rest with analysis.

Being an offensive player, his hands cannot be in his body because he is running. After that, he struggled to get the ball then make a final pass to Sterling.

The hand of Liverpool player unnaturally becomes bigger by raising his hand on angle 45. That's a clean penalty.

Mane pushed sterling and he stretched out his hand before bringing him down; that is another clean one.

Same sterling played another final pass, and the hand of another Liverpool hits the ball.

Salah goal was shown as offside during review;/did ref even pause for two seconds not to talk of review.

A Liverpool player, who fouled Sterling even deserves a yellow card in the first half.

Bros forget, even the most dangerous liar knows that City deserves at least one or two penalties in that game.

It might not be City's year, but it was unfair to them.

That's just the truth

What are you typing?

Did anyone say the ball did not hit Bernardo Silva? Even the interview in the article did not talk about it because the ball deflected off Bernardo Silva to his hand which does not count as handball, like the Rojo's case against Nigeria.

That was not why it was ruled out if you bothered to read the article. It was ruled out because they claimed Trent did not intend to use his hand, which they are lying.

Good Joe, go and update yourself on the latest rules regarding attacker's handball.

The attached photo is from the premier league website.

it was not a penalty , u don't overlook a pure hand ball from a stretched arm of a striker and next second u blow a penalty if it later caught up with a defender's unstretched arm ,

it's either u blow the first hand ball which no one will argue after replays , or u allow both . blowing the second would have been worst.

green is to blow the first hand ball

yellow is to allow both and play on

red is to blow the second hand ball

that's 3 sides of big calls for a referee

Obviously, Bernardo silver didn't have enough time tom maneuver his body away from the direction of the ball because it was very close to him and short. Trent on the other hand saw the ball and clearly chose to make himself bigger. He had time to either decide to keep his arm to himself or spreadout. I'm not arguing I'm not a fan of either team. Just read the law of the handball whatever.

One Bernardo was not racing when it hit his hand, it was a clearance from lovren than his hand and went straight to Arnold.

Secondly, sterling wasn't pushed, we all know sterling loves to dive, it's a matter of stamina. Sterling was getting the better of Arnold and mane had to help him out, it was strength there.

Point 3,Salah wasn't in an offside position, he was played onside by fernandinho. I was at the viewing center and I can categorically tell that some Nigerians don't watch match, they use emotions to see the game.

Y do u think Gomez was added? It was to support Arnold and the same sterling had an issue with him. Mancity played badly, the earlier you admit it, the better for you.

Neil Swarbrick, the man whose job it is to oversee the implementation of VAR in the Premier League claimed it was the correct decision.

Speaking on BBC Five Live, he said: “That’s the subjective part – was it in an unnatural place? When you look at it, at no point does Trent Alexander-Arnold’s arm move towards the ball.

“His body posture … his arm is there. His arm has got to be somewhere. His arm is slightly away from his body but that is a neutral, natural position for his stance at that moment in time.

“The ball came from a short distance at pace, and just happened to hit that arm. He didn’t move the arm towards the ball, it just hit the arm.

“Michael Oliver has seen that clearly. That’s what he explained. He said ‘I know it’s hit the arm, but there is no arm movement, it’s come at short distance, I’m comfortable that that’s not deliberate handball’.

“It has to be deliberate in the penalty area to give a penalty. It’s different to scoring a goal, where it can be accidental. To give a penalty it’s got to be deliberate.

“Michael deemed it not to be deliberate. The VAR has looked at that, listened to what Michael said, and it absolutely married up.”

Except that is simply not true.

Not only that, Swarbrick, Oliver and the VAR all failed to see it, which questions either their eyesight or their integrity – take your pick.

Swarbrick also failed to mention the actual letter of the law.

He said it was about whether the arm was “in an unnatural place”.

The law actually states: “It is usually an offence if a player: touches the ball with their hand/arm when: the hand/arm has made their body unnaturally bigger” or when the arm is raised above the head.

From being by his side, Alexander-Arnold’s arm indisputably rises and moves away from his body, therefore making his body “unnaturally bigger”.

VAR has been an unmitigated disaster. And with officials refusing to admit huge errors, and do something about them, it will continue to be so.

By the time the ball reaches Alexander-Arnold and strikes him, his arm has risen to a 45-degree angle

It was not a penalty while everything you wrote makes sense mind you if the ball had not touched Silva's hand it would not have met Trent's hand cause Silva's hand changed the direction of the ball so how would they give that as a penalty the only wrong thing the referee did was not stopping play when he saw the incident but man city should have played to the whistle

I feel that Arnold deliberately handled the ball because he was confident the ref will blow against Bernardo Silva's handball but unfortunately Oliver didn't blow the whistle.

If you can read between the lines, Liverpool first goal ought to be disallowed if the ref follow the rule you quoted.

During Tot vs City last season, the ball hit Tot player first before City player and a penalty was awarded against City.

Technology came in to help us enjoy football but English ref are too proud to use technology in the right way. Even English Riley admitted that there is problem with the way VAR is being used in England that is why he is organizing a meeting of ref, manager and club representative

This is not true as no penalty was given to Tottenham.

Moreover, it was City that scored a last minute goal but was ruled out after VAR check which confirmed that the corner kick had hit Otamendi's hand in the build up to Jesus' goal.

The replay shows the liverpoool's players hands was in a natural position infact aguero was in the same position trying to return back after man City player deflected d ball with his own hand. The video shown that aguero's hand and Alexander's hand were both stretched out due to physiolocomotive actions. If u paused it as at that time, u will see both stretched their hands to balance their body and Alexander was unfortunate to while aguero escaped it.

The arms, much like the legs are used for maintaining balance. Considering the distance between the players, the referee and officials used common sense and I implore everyone to throw sentiments aside and use it too. When Origi was fouled in the buildup to Man. United's goal, that was an error on the part of the officials but haters said they didn't see any foul. Suddenly you think the officials want LFC to win...bla bla bla
