You are just evading the truth. The above article clearly highlights the corrupt decision and lies made by the EPL officials.

The VAR officials knew it was a penalty and clearly denied City it. This is why I like VAR, now we know the agenda is clear.

Their agenda is not clear.... The VAR was clearly put in place to rob man city the title. They are the only team capable of winning the EPL

What annouys many was the fact that the Ref openly and confidently showed that he is against Man City and that nothing will happen.

The Ref supposed to be sanctioned if EPL want to maintain credibility. Man City is the winner if not for the useless Ref

Firstly, the decision is controversial. The interpretation keeps varying across leagues. It's even more funny when the reason they gave was distance being too short for him to move his hand. If they mentioned B.Silva's hand touching the ball as the reason, I would have understood. In Serie A, I bet you both calls based on the reasons they gave would be penalties.

VAR will never be perfect but it eliminates errors more often than not. Everyone will have a fair share of one decision going for him or against him. One thing is certain, the table never lies....wherever you end up is where you deserve to be. Personally, I feel City's major worry isn't the loss but the fact that it leaves them 9points adrift but the truth remains they are not trailing by that margin because of Anfield's result

Lol

When Firminho's goal was cancelled against Aston Villa because his armpit(abi armpit hair) was offside, who's agenda was clear then?

I'm not here to argue back and forth with you. Oliver was solely in charge of making the decision, and even if he gave the penalty, we all would live with it

But my point is if he had given that penalty, then we would be seeing about 5 similar cases on every match. Sterling purposely played it on his hand, and there was no other possible place to keep his hands.

Like your article said, his hands had to be somewhere
like how mane purposely played it on sissoko hand.lol

You are still deviating.

Michael Oliver and the VAR man lied Trent Alexander did not commit a deliberate offence. What do you say about that. That is the point of the thread.

If you feel Bernardo Silva committed a foul or not is not in question. The question is, why did they both lie to something so blatant.
Oga forget all this thing u are typing, I wonder why City is crying Foul, The VAR officials were consulted, it was a very critical case because Liverpool scored the first goal immediately after that, So the ref and Var has a choice of giving a Penalty or to cancel Fabinho's goal.... The goal stood because Bernardo Silver deflected the ball with his arms first then to Trent Arnold arms as well, unless u watched back of TV u don't have any case here, it was indeed a nice decision from the Ref and Var

In the build up, the ball first hit the arm of bernado silva before the arm of trent. Or did you hypocrite didn't see it.

Please guys, let this discussion end.

Haha, if Bernardo Silva had played the ball against a goalkeeper and it recocheted off his hand at that speed into the net, would you have called it a goal.

Cos I don't understand how Silva's handball is not a case in this scheme of things.

Pleeeeeeeeease

‘One way or another, the action should have been stopped there and then,’ Kompany told Sky Sports. ‘You can argue about Bernardo’s handball, I don’t think he knows about it, but that [Alexander-Arnold’s] is a handball, that’s not a natural position.

‘Bernardo’s is in a natural position, Alexander-Arnold’s isn’t.’... Vincent Kompany.

Michael Oliver said Trent Arnold Alexander did not move his hand - He did

Michael Oliver said his hand was in a natural position - It was not.

Michael Oliver said there was not enough time for Arnold to get his hand away - There was because Arnold even moved his hand to the ball.

The VAR watched the replay and said Michael Oliver was right when the picture clearly shows he was not.

Do you get it now?

if only u have calmed dwn and read ur article well, u would have realised the explanation was for d second pk call nd not d first (so wer is the lie)

The rule states that any handball (intentional or not) dat leads to a goal will tender that goal to b null nd void (dat was y chelsea goal against ajax was cancelled),same as y mane goal against united was cancelled.... So y do u think silva hamdball shld lead to a pk?

Ur arguement sounds lik a market woman's point of view, bring fifa rules of the game let us analyze nd c if any bias occured frm the ref on that day or if truely ur city wer outplayed and outclassed on dat day

Mind u kompany will always b a slave to city.... Wer u really expecting him to say something baf against city... Come on u shld kw better bro

SmartyPants:

1. The ball hit the city player's hand but it was not a handball. the rules are clear:

"Premier League players will be allowed extra leeway when it comes to ricocheted handballs.

It is often impossible to avoid contact with the ball if it has deflected off the body of an opponent, team-mate, or even another part of the own player.

So a handball will not be awarded if the ball touches a player’s hand/arm directly from their own head/body/foot or the head/body/foot of another player who is close/nearby."

Ball clearly ricochets of Lovren onto Silva's arm. That is not a handball by the rules.

Then in the same passage of play, the ball is played onto Arnold's outstretched arm. here is what the rules have to say about that:

"If the ball hits a player who has made their body "unnaturally bigger" then a foul will be awarded."

by having his hand outstretched, he certainly made his body bigger. the ref has defended this by saying he didn't think it was intentional, but the intention is not the appropriate test. unnatural positioning is, and going by that, that was a clear penalty.

2. I didn' t see the second one but by narration, it should have been a penalty.

For ur first point, the rule states that any hand ball (intentional or not) dat leads to a goal will render d goal null nf void (silva handball... Pk... Goal.... Void) so it stil doesnt count, i am just laughing realising u re d 1 analysing wich incidence to call intentional nd delibrate

For ur other point, if u play football u will understand dat sometimes even if ur hand is not on ur body it ia stil at the natural position, just lik wen u re running, ur outstretched hand is stil st its natural position at dat point in time, was arnold on motion... Yes, was he trying to mk himself bigger.... No, was d hand at its natural position comsidering his movement.... Yes (same for ming against liverpool... Exactly y d pk was nt awarded).

So b4 u analyze also put some fact into ur analogy

Oga na you dey talk trash sir. The arm of the defender never moved towards the ball. It was a case of the ball purely hitting the arm of the defender. That has always been the rule even before VAR. VAR only delegates the job of reviewing such to a dedicated extra official. Stop talking like pikin.

That was why the penalty was not given. If you read the article, the officials did not talk of the ball hitting Bernardo Silva's arm. The ball ricocheted to Silva's arm and was not a deliberate act.

Replay shows clearly that Trent Arnold Alexander on the other hand saw the ball and chose to use his hand to stop it. Which is clearly a deliberate act for a penalty.

The officials chose to deny it which shows a clear case of their corruption.
And does your picture evidence on Nairaland prove that Trent's hand moved towards the ball? Your thread is about the dumbest of 2019.
