I heard the universities were caught red handed recruiting staffs to fill the spaces ghost workers used to occupy. Buhari will nail them with that alone.
my department in unibuja had just 3 active lecturers.
5 innitialy, 2 went for study leave.
1 among the two doesn't seem interested in the job again cos since my 2015 till date she hasn't return.

When they came to accredit the dept, they had to borrow staffs and claim we had 26 lecturers.
I mean from 5 to 26 how comes

Some graduates served as interns at FMC Ilorin some years back. After they concluded their internships and left, FG came to the center with the IPPIS enrolment. Na so all guys started receiving six digits alerts every month as salaries. They made discreet enquiry and discovered that their names were used to cover up for the ghost workers the center was using to dupe FG over years. I don't know the current status now.

The Union made a submission to the President of the country, he then directed the minister of education to act on the submission and report back to him. The minister has been having meetings with the Union and all of the sudden someone is bringing this on.

Someone in the Villa is not happy with the progress been made in resolving the issues by minister of education.
The only remedy here is for ASUU to do the right thing. Employee can’t dictate how the employer runs his business

I pity the students, because once the strike is over, ASUU will receive their salaries.

They will get their salaries after the strike because they will still teach students all that they are supposed to teach them during the period that they on strike.

They can't jump the curriculum.

Now this is the part that gets me angry and feel like ASUU should just register.

What arant nonsense is ASUU saying pls? Can a Piper refuse the tone of his payer?

Look at this scenario:
Like I was employ and being paid in cash monthly and no agreement on mode of payment ooh but only terms and conditions.

Maybe after some years my employer request for my account details that he want to transfer my wages there instead of given me cash as before.

I refuse transfer and start protesting for this mode of wages payment by my employer and threat that I will not follow his request.

Plis if you are my employer, what would you do to me or to the situation?

What I do not understand is that ASUU which is supposed to be made up of academia and at the forefront of using IT based solution to solve problems are the ones opposing IPPIS whereas a certain GMB who they claimed does not even have school Cert is the one pushing for the modern use of solving problems technologically.
The irony is too difficult for me to grasp.

I felt it should take a bit longer than that so that they can do a proper tidy up and audit of the system to reduce the sharp practices that ensued during enrollment before payment commenses .

If they are in a haste to prove a point, the system will be a failure before it even commenses...

What you need to understand
1. University management is run by the Vice Chancellors, DVCs, Registrars, Bursars and principal officers. ASUU members do not run universities but are critical members in Nigerian university system. If there are recruitment irregularities, the university management and the governing councils should be held responsible and not ASUU.

2. ASUU like any other organisations has some bad eggs but they're insignificant and this cannot erase what ASUU has achieved over the years in in making sure that university education is accessible to everybody. In fact, the reason why the government-ASUU negotiations have broken down is that the federal government through its representatives are proposing school fees of between 300k-500k for students in tertiary institutions. ASUU is currently fighting this!

3. The issue of IPPIS is complex. IPPIS is not owned by the government. It is owned by some people and in fact, the AGF is alleged to have some stakes in it. IPPIS too is not immune to irregularities. However, ASUU is not against IPPIS but wants some issues to be addressed and federal government is currently engaging and studying the alternative template designed by the ASUU.

4. More than eighty percent of university lecturers are yet to be enrolled into IPPIS. If salaries are stopped this month, ASUU will invoke NO PAY, NO WORK . I pray the circular is fake!

You're very right. I think FG is out to prove a point. Either way, let the wages of labourers not be denied them. The preparation for this payment platform has actually exposed many anomalies in the system especially in the area of recruitment.

Indeed, the irony would be too difficult for you to grasp, if your understanding of rejection of IPPIS means rejection of IT driven system. It clearly shows that you don't have sufficient info on the reason ASUU is rejecting IPPIS.

Smiles... My brother just believe in what you know. Federal government only paying into institutions accounts base on payroll.
Sorry dear brother. U can never c me talking like the way you did online because am guided with moral. Its funny when you are saying they are not incharge of IPPIS.. who said they were in the first place. I said they were recruiting to save dia ghost workers salary receiving atrocities. The recruitment was internal. I can remember well that in 2016 they released a publication in national newspaper for recruitment around 1031 applications was submitted according to statistics then but none was employed. No new lecturer or except 37 casual workers that got employed then. They updated dia data back then that they employed around 22 new lecturer and 124 now teaching staff. The new number entered the payroll whereby nobody was employed. Now IPPIS come, don't u know the number of secrets it gonna reveal? Go to different federal institutions in ur area and do more secret internal research about them and their management then u will know about the level of atrocities we are talking about and not just base ur jurisdiction on imagination. ...

ASUU have proposed an alternate platform that captures their peculiarity and is not against the Constitution....AG agreed to integrate the UTAS from ASUU to the IPPIS to form a uniform system but last minute they change it to no pay or register....who is fooling who in this country??
