North east or North west.

South east is a landlocked region that will remain dependent on every other regions around it, either for water or for oil or food and Electricity.

The North has always been able to sustain themselves before discovery of oil and their moderate lifestyle is an advantage. Food and trade will boom easy

South south and south west will flourish due to oil and foreign trade, and transportation (waterways).

North central will remain dependent on mineral resources and they will form a coalition with the NE and NW.

Definitely, the South West..but I think economically wise, the South West will do better than the six regions if granted independence at the same time

How each region fared during regionalism may be a pointer to answering this question

All the zones can if they have deep thinkers and prudent managers of resources.

Why not Let's go back to regionalism then so as to bring out the best in the regions?

All the six geo political zone will thrive inasmuch they are ruled by good and educated leader.
America and Britain will crumble if our politicians get hold of public office down there.

Firstly this map is not the true map of the people...

What would the Christian's in southern kaduna be doing in a country with north west ...

What would the Christian's in the north east be doing in a country a North East country

The Christian majority tribes in the north should be added up to form north Central , .....

The yorubas in middle belt should be given a chance to join their brothers or stay

Same with the igbos of South south

Every region has the potential ....but it depends on the leadership they elect

If granted independence at the same time.
And all have equal right thinking leaders

I believe SW and SS will do better than the rest followed by SE then NC then NW followed by NE

South East is landlocked. And as long as SS refuse to participate in Biafra, it remains a mirage. Only the north can break away from the country without stress but they will be landlocked too and they don't like that. The SW has the brightest prospects if they are independent.

All of them. Before Nigeria was created, were they not there? Or do you think those people started living from 1960?

Your reasoning does not make sense. Is it all countries in the world that are close to sea? That landlock logic is baseless. South east will be a great nation and even south west have the capabilities of being a greater nation too. So why can't the south west fight for regionalism?

We all make mistakes when we talk about religion. Is there a law in the world that says anybody cannot practise any religion he deems fit?

We should learn how to tolerate the other religion just like the Yorubas have managed to do.It is not easy but with a lot of tolerance and great understanding.
We have seen Muslims converting to Christians and Christians converting to Muslims even in USA,UK,Nigeria etc.Are we going to burn down the world when it happens to our relatives or people from our states, towns or villages?
We should learn to be tolerant.

If South South declines to go with the South East, then South East might have a little difficulty but will overcome it soonest with good and prudent managers.

For Nigeria to grow,we need a little competition among the various zones to ginger one another to greater height.

I think it depends on the leaders of the region..but the brightest I see is SW cuz it has every good thing naturally from fertile land, natural resources, sea to connect to other part of the world,as Nigeria in general is blessed with intelligent people but all of this can be useful if they have great and visionary leader

the reason why Nigeria is here in the first place is leader

My take is that you can be an Atheist,Christian,Muslim or whatever but it should not stop me from being tolerant with you so we can live in a peaceful world.Your being an Atheist cannot stop me from attaining Heaven.
Tolerance can save lives and it begets development and growth.

Southwest is fighting for regionalism albeit organically. To a large extent they are already in control of their security.

Landlock, yet you all want them to remain in this unserious Nigeria, just let them go so that hunger will finish them since you all forgot that necessity is the mother of invention

I think that all 6 geopolitical zones can become a country. The idea of financial difficulties will depend how prudently the use their resources, human and natural.

I noticed how some people are rushing to say that the SE is landlocked without equally mentioning that the NW,NE and NC are all landlocked. For them, it is only the SE that is landlocked. But no worries, Niger Republic, Chad and Mali are all North of Nigeria and are all landlocked. They are all still surviving as independent country

But is the SE truly landlocked? No it isnt, the only people who think that the SE is landlocked are those who dont look at the map of Nigeria well.

What some people dont realise is that neither Imo state nor Abia state are landlocked. Oguta in Imo state and Obuaku in Abia both have access to the Sea.

If you look at the picture of Abia state below, you will see that a tributary runs from the tip of Abia, separating Rivers and Akwai Ibom states, and into the ocean. Dredge that tributary, build a Sea port and and any ship can sail to Abia state.
