What is the chance of getting employment at Jamaica as an accountant
Which province( state) is the best to stay
Which cheap flight can i get to Jamaica
What is like at the point of entry e.g immigration and Co
Need more knowledge about life and experience at Jamaica as a newcomer
How to get work permit so i can stay permanently there.

This is serious o!

@dear brother, instead of trying to secure a visa to Jamaica, you can change your mind and try to secure the visa to Ajegunle in Lagos State. The life there in Ajegunle seems to be similar to the one in Jamaica.

What for?
Jamaica of all countries?
Many Nigerians do not know that Nigeria is a paradise as a citizen compared to living as an alien in another country like Jamaica.

Political Geography should be taught in our schools as general study to get people aware of other countries of the world. It will reduce our citizens travel to just anywhere

You have done the right by coming here to ask question. Don't make a terrible mistake, Bro. Naija is a paradise compare to Jamaica.

If you wanna leave Naija, ensure you go to a place where things are better of. Don't go from frypan to Fire.

My list is as follows: Australia, Canada, USA, UK (Germany, Sweden, Norway, Finland). Most of these European countries, you need to speak their Languages before you can land some decent jobs for yourself. If you don't mind to do anything to earn money, you will certainly get menials jobs there.

In everything, getting an IT skills is a top notch to secure jobs in Western world right now. May be you can delve into that right now if you have the time.

Don't waste your money to migrate to worthless country that you may not recuperate your money used for the traveling.

Instead of Jamaica, is it not better you relocate to a less populated state within the country and start a new life? Jamaica?

One doesn’t need living in a country to know about the country

My advice is remain in Nigeria if you can't legally travel and settle in a first world country.

It does not make sense relocating from one shithole to another shithole or mini shithole.

You are better off in your own shithole than another man's shithole grin

I think you're actually a super-smart strategist. It's much easier to gain entry into the US, UK or Canada from these Caribbean countries than from Nigeria..

For example, lot of Nigerians don't know that citizens of Montserrat are somewhat classified as UK citizens.. with their passports, they have every right and entitlement as a British citizen, can travel to and fro to the UK without restrictions, settle here and gain all benefits the British people can such as home tuition fees, council benefits, etc... they even get visa-free travel to majority of countries in the world with their passport too. The Montserrat passport is practically a British passport as they are still classified as a British colony.

So my dear, I think you've got an excellent plan here.. be open-minded and do research into other Caribbean countries too... hope it works out well for you!

True. But you can't make blanket statements based on what you've read online, seen in movies, or listened to in music.

OP clearly wants to use his move to the Caribbean as a stepping stone to other opportunities and I think this is an absolutely brilliant idea..

...one can spend 7 years facing rejection in Nigeria trying to get into US or UK
or,
utilise their brain, easily gain access to one of these "emerging economy" countries and from there move on to their ultimate destination..

OP what will it take you to proof read your write-up before posting. I'm not trying to condemn you or sound intelligent myself but for an Accounting graduate, your writing is not impressive at all. No offence meant, just stating the obvious.

Make una understand say, expression sef dey important when it comes to migration both oral and written expression because you gats prove yourself for embassy.

Except you are typing from a phone with a faulty screen, you have no excuse for those numerous and obvious errors on your write-up.

For the purpose of this thread, there are many other countries you can migrate to that are better than Jamaica and it will be easy for you to move to the First World Countries from there too.

Browse extensively on this travel section and see for yourself. Thank me later.

Good luck in your endeavors.

Are you for real? ..this is nairaland not ACCA examinations or Visa application... why expect him to write so formally on an anonymous forum.. undecided

That being said, yes, there might be better Caribbean countries he can emigrate to such as The Bahamas.

Bros, I've never worked in Jamaica before but I have visited a couple of Caribbean countries on lengthy holidays. (Antigua, Barbados and St Kitts)

What I've observed about the lifestyle there is:

1. They are very mellow people who don't take life so easily. The environment is serene and they don't have the same gra gra hussle behaviour that Nigerians have. They are very content with simple living i.e. someone can be a pineapple cutter on the beach and have no desire to move past that level because no one cares whether you're a "big boy" or not.. they treat each other with respect irrespective of their career choice.

2. There aren't many corporate jobs there and the few that are available , their own citizens are prioritised over other nationals.

3. Most of their economy is powered through tourism so most jobs are available in this sector. Therefore you may have more of a chance getting work in this area.. e.g. tourist guide, hotel manager, airport shuttle driver etc..

4. Unlike in Nigeria, they look after their own. They practise "job sharing" a lot - a job for one person can be shared amongst 3 people just to make sure unemployment is low in thier country. Also, foreigners may also struggle to purchase a home there as they have policies around keeping their properties amongst the locals. You can always rent tho!

4. They are friendly people but Nigerians have a bad reputation there. I got to know this via numerous conversations with locals who started bad mouthing Nigerians once they got to know I was Nigerian. They think we are all crooks and scammers and were surprised to see "normal" Nigerians like me and my lady.

That being said, yes, there might be better Caribbean countries he can emigrate to such as The Bahamas.

@Your first paragraph, he wrote in standard English which is formal, assuming his write-up was in pidgin English, that is a different case.
There is no excuse, because it's an online public forum should even be the more reason we should learn to write better.
He didn't make a mistake because all his write-up was in the same pattern with obvious and repeated errors. Safe to say, that could be the way he writes. Most people are unbothered on how they express themselves when writing which is not ideal.
Personally, I love seeing a good write up because there are one or two things I can learn from it.

@Second paragraph, there are countries in Europe too that have soft immigration policies, he just needs to be prepared financially, educationally and skillfully on his visa application. I saw a thread of a guy that travelled to Mexico, his application was quite easy and he is comfortable there. Proper and extensive research is all the OP needs.

Jamaica is a no no for me.

Exactly you really understand our problems in this Nigeria is that most of us lack information and we all always put head on one basket if you no what Nigerias are facing in the so call embassies of all this country still we are still going there and still refusing us their visa they have turn us to money making machine a-lot of Nigeria are stay happily in Jamaica moreover moving from Jamaica to US is easy that is why most Jamaican are plenty staying in US we need to wise up in this country
