Help....he's Having A Itching Sensation After Taking Bath by Yustash001(m): 9:33pm On Jun 13, 2020
Good evening everyone

It's been more than a month now that I have been having the feeling after taking bath but It wasn't severe...Recently I just noticed that the feeling increases to the extent that I've stopped bathing with sponge.

Infact, sometimes I may have to scratch my body up to 3 minutes before putting on clothes

Please, doctors in the house what could be the problem and the probable solution....thanks

Better you go to hospital and see a doctor.

I am not a doctor, but I am sharing this from experience.

Probable causes:

1. Water (harsh or hard)

2. Dirty or contaminated water source

3. The use on sponge (your skin may be irritated by it)

Immediately try this:

1. Stop using sponge to scrub for a while.

2. Don't deep dry your skin with towel after bathing.

3. Disinfect your water (use detol or antiseptic soaps)

4. Try another source of water.

If all these doesn't drastically reduce or stop it with 5 - 8days, then try to visit an hospital.

It's either you are reacting to soap or water you use in bathing or you're becoming anemic (shortage of red blood cells). Incase you're anemic, doctors may prescribe Iron supplements, folic acid capsules and vitamin b-complex capsules.

It could also be as a result of nerve injury which can be treated with tablets prescribed by a doctor. In the meantime, eat more of fruits and vegetables to up your vitamin levels.

Find time to go see a specialist for proper diagnosis. You'll be fine.

Thank you...if someone is anaemic, is there any other symptoms someone may observe?

Op did you change your environment recently?
It could be that your body has not adapted to the water supply in your new environment.
I had similar issue about a year ago when I moved to a new location. Applying disinfectant on my bathing water was what helped me overcome the itching.

Fatigue (tiredness), dizziness, headaches, skin and eyes become pale etc.

Anemia though treatable, can signal an underlying chronic health condition such as cancers, diabetes etc. reason it is always advisable to go for checkup.

I didn't have any of the above symptoms even though I'm battling with Ulcer currently

I think that is caused by something else
