So it will take 3 years to get 10% functionality

you have taken pains to highlight the Problems, but not the possible solutions..I must make you understand that i do not take sides in political views neither am i witchhunting anybody/party,but the present administration should understand that a greater responsibility lie on them, because the former failed..They should move on from the shadows of Jonathan and get things done ASAP.Was blame game part the manifesto they read to us with brooms waiving in the air? enough of these blame games,do your own and leave whoever failed..afterall our deeds will be remembered in the ugly books of history
NGpatriot:

1. The above report about Ajaokuta was published back in 2009 with the same claim what the project was 98% complete so what this man said in 2020 wasn't new, he clearly opined the truth as stated in many reports years ago and year after year till today.

2. Before asking me why it;s going to take another 3 years, you should be asking what happened since 2009 and for all the years GEJ spent in office?

Nigerian earned more oil money under GEJ than any other administration in Nigeria, have you asked yourself why GEJ didn't complete the project or why he did not come up with common $1 bill needed to complete the project.?

3. GEJ and Okonjo stole our $2.3 billion and gave it to Dasuki ATM to share with his crooked cronies like FFK, Metuh, Fayose and others, why not just take $1 billion out of that money to finish the project?

4. You want the current administration to finish in 3 years what past administrations couldn't get past the 98% completion since 2009 or even before.

5. You obviously don't know too much about this project, the current administration just settled the decade old wranglings and lawsuits that past administrations couldn't settle for the project to progres, this government couldn't do anything until the lawsuits are settled which they did in 2016.

6. In late 2019, PMB went to Russia to seek commitment from Russia to complete the project, Russia agreed and COVID - 19 happened as explained in the article.

Instead of reading and responding to just the headlines, let us read or do a little research before jumping into conclusions.

Ajaokuta was buried under decades of rubbish, corruption, legal tussles and lawsuits, but today, we have the money and Russia is ready to go to work and finish the project,

Chief, as at the late 2000s, that rail line had been built all the way into Kogi and remained only 42km to join up AJaokuta. That’s a distance of Lekki to Airport of Standard gauge rail track.
It’s not a big feat.

Which money do you have? Check my earlier posts to estimate what needs to be done.

Like I said, get the full details and measure against what could be done.

Until I see liquid metal flow out of the tap holes of the AJaokuta Blast furnace and oxygen lanced into that liquid metal in the steel making shop, every story told about AJaokuta is politics.

It takes just 12 months to achieve that if the government is really serious!

NGpatriot:

1. PMB in less than 4 years completed the rail line that was supposed to be supplying the plant with raw material from Delta, before PMB, it was abandoned for 30 years.

That's progress and regardless of your ill informed APC/PDP rant, I credit PMB for doing what many admin before him failed to do, it showed his commitment and determination fo make Ajaokuta functional.

2. PMB traveled all the way to Russia for a government to government and a president to president consultations and won a commitment from the Russian government and president to complete the project.

3. That's progress and regardless of your ill informed APC/PDP rant, I credit PMB for doing what many admin before him failed to do, it showed his commitment and determination fo make Ajaokuta functional.

4. Now, I'd agree with you if you are able to show me what previous administrations before PMB did 16 years and decades before PMB to actualize this project and make it functional.

I know you can't, all you have to sell is negativity, misguided and ill-informed rants and hateful sentiments.

Sure, any government can set goals, but circumstances do affect our best goals, but what you can not sit here and tell me is that PMB did not commit himself or did not perform better than past admin to finish this project, no you can not.

PMB settled the decades old lawsuits and the reasons why the project stalled.

PMB went to Russia to seek commitment from Russia to complete the project, Russia agreed and COVID - 19 happened as explained in the article

The solution was there, you just either skipped it or just want to keep arguing for reasons best know to you.
