My sincere advice for all the singles is to go through conference. Pay for the conference, recieve the reciept aand request for the IV letter from the organisers. The conference will specify the hotel to be used. Book the hotel with your credit card and print the confirmation.get your sponsors bank statement( preferably your parent, or your company).Get your strong ties too

For the interview, try to reharse yourself on how you will convince the consular that you will be coming back to the country when you are dont with the conference. Try to convince the consular on how the conference will benefit you personally and how it will help your company.

If you are a student , try to convince him how it will help your academics and also your dad's company, being your sponsor.

Then pray to God for his Mercy.

Thats just the little advice from my little experience and it works alot.

Realone has just summarized it now and the guy did the same thing
he told us here to get his own visa! So there is no rocket science in
Usa visa any longer, the best thing to do is to just compose yourself
well during your interview. Do not spend millions on Usa visa again,

At first, you will think its very hard, but believe me, i will say its the simplest. The main problem your ability to demonstrate with full confidence to the consular.

Mind you, you may have a very strong confident from home, but meeting the consular ONE ON ONE is another ball game. The fear will just come from nowhere, no matter how confident you are. But to overcome that, try not to let the fear to affect what you will say. Just let the fear to continue to burn inside your heart.

Can I just Signup for any contract even if it doesnt speak about International Visitors? I have found some within my academic field but most of them didnt say anything about coming from Overseas. Please advise me on this.

I have seen different conference websites and some of them dont state anything about giving you any document like Invitation for Travel. So I dont know If I should go ahead and pay, I know I will get a receipt but what if they dont give me an IV?

A one room apartment in my state is $550 per month,electricity bills $32, you will also pay for internet bills,buy a car which is a must or else you are ready to walk miles from your home to the bus station and wait for some mins.Shoppings are very fantastic.You will be tricked in buying everything. but if you dont have enough money, dont think an unknown fellow will help you,instead they will trick you to collect the little in your hand. Then trouble begins and you will eventually become a marathon athlete.

Pls a friend of mine just got a 2 yrs multiple visa. my question is at the point of entry(airport)how long does he have to stay in the states? whats the duration that will be stamped on his passport. tnx

He is mostly likely to be issued 6months visa and he is expected to leave usa on the date written on his homeland security card or else , he will be illegal immigrant in usa.

Thanks for the response, i thought it was 3 months that will be stamped on his passport at the airport on arrival. my friend is thinking about staying back there in the states. is it possible or he will be caught and deported after the expiration of his visa if he decides to stay behind?

It's possible for an agent to get you date Apr/May
cause they have way around it. I used to do it before
but don't have the advantage again.

I was at abuja embassy yesterday. Got denied of B1/B2.
I misunderstood Visa Officer. He asked for events during my intended conference, i said seminars, paper presentation. Then he asked for letter of acceptance of my paper. I gave him the Iv letter, and receipt. But he said he is refusing my application, cos i cant provide evidence of acceptance of my paper. That was it. He didnt even allow me to correct the misunderstanding.
I have all other documents and good ties. I need to know if I can reapply in 1mth time to meet the may conference.

I typed the solution here on this thread before. You did not train yourself very well and not ask for lots of advices. All you did is just to listen to agents that are after your money and not your succesful interview.
I'm not saying you should not listen to your agent, but try to seek more knowledge on what you are going for.

I once pass through that without any single failure.

The consulars are very smart but you need to prepare yourself to be more smarter, then back it up with prayer.

I did not follow any agent, i prepared using this forum and people who hav gone ahead. Its unfortunate this happend.
Is it advisable i reapply in 1mth time, since the basis of denial is misperception of consulars question.
What are my chances.

I guess you can apply at any time just to correct the
miss understanding and this should be your main point

sorry about that, you can reapply at any time like suxes said but you need to state the reason for the initial denial in your ds-160 form.

Yes you can if you have a supporting documents, though they hardly approve it except that of students or those going on medical ground.
