I have to side with Beaf on this one. These boys risked their lives fighting the govt. for resource control. Since, they weren't given the full resource control, then atleast let them enjoy their monthly allowance. Others, like politicians, and unproductive states/LG are just getting a free ride for doing absolutely nothing.
To carry gun and face nigerian soldiers no be for lazy man o! I love these Ijaw boys men.

Which country gives allowance to people because they are in oil producing regions? What's wrong with Nigerians?

Err, not when Lagos State is getting gypped out of port revenue and VAT money. The amount it is losing to the FG very likely makes up for the tiny amounts it gets back.

If someone offers Lagos State the choice of exchanging VAT revenues earned within the state + full control of its port revenues in exchange for losing all FG allocations, I suspect that the state takes that offer every time.
